I fell off the WW wagon...

Angela, on November 10, 2012 at 8:33 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 8

Iv been on weight watchers 3 weeks now, iv seen great results. But yesterday i went out with the girls to celebrate a bday...and of lord did i fall off...i had a three course meal, which included a chocolate brownie & ice-cream for dessert. Now i feel the efforts of this past week of been on WW is wasted.

Oh and i had 1 cocktail jug to myself throughout night...i know greedy lol.

How do you prepare for a girls night out, so that you can enjoy the night & not feel your WW efforts were for nothing?

It's okay. That's just one day. Just get back on to journaling.

Your efforts haven't been wasted. I try not to deprive myself on the regular so that I don't overdo it when I do go out. When I'm going out with girls, if it's a restaurant, I'll make sure I get plenty of water and order the least fried or creamy item on, but yet not diety. I also try to store up points for those days. Remember you get 49 bonus for the week. If I do really bad, I'll also workout extra to make up for as much of it if only to get rid of the guilt. If you're far away enough from your weigh in day, you might not even have a gain. So relax, go for a walk/jog/run and start tracking again.

I'm not doing ww, I'm a bb coach. Yes there are days that slip up but the days/nights that I do, I just do an extra workout the following day. For instance, if its a rest day I'll go walking or biking (hangover and all) and if its a workout day I'll walk, run or bike that evening.

PS. that's another way to keep yourself on track....when I think about the extra workout, I tend to do better. I'll just eat half of the brownie and half of the ice cream. It's a mind thing I guess

When I go out I balance each drink with water. Drinks can be very deceiving and packed with calories! Also have a few bites of the brownie and not the whole thing, very hard I know!!

Your efforts weren't for nothing! one night out can't possibly undo 3 weeks of hard work! it's ok to splurge once in a while, otherwise life would be no fun. just don't let that one slip up discourage you. i think a lot of people think "oh well, i screwed up breakfast, this day is shot, so i might as well go crazy the rest of the day!" then that turns one meal into a whole day down the tubes. don't beat yourself up for having fun with your girls, just get back on track today!
