I forgot my engagement ring at home today..

Nicole S. (formerly Nicole C), on April 11, 2012 at 9:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

I was freaking out the entire day. I went to the gym last night and kept it at my house, and I forgot to put it on after I showered and I PASSED OUT last night.

Frantically scurrying this morning I never put it on. I spent the whole day touching my finger and freaking out. I lost one of the stones after I had it re-sized about a week into the engagement. Scariest 20 seconds of my life until FH and his eagle-eyes spotted it. outside. at a party. on the patio. and then we brought it back to the jeweler that created it...

Ever since then I'm always checking my finger. I should not be trusted with expensive jewelry- does this happen to anyone else?!?! Lol

Haha we did as soon as we bought our house- you can add it on to the property tax. But when we got engaged we didn't have that, so I kept a crazy eye on it for about 3 months...I don't think it ever really went away.

Oh well, at least I didn't really lose it Smiley smile

Ha ha! Yes, I bet it happens to everyone. I know that I didn't have mine for a week, and caught it (really, really hard), snagged it, and one of the prongs bent, and the diamond ended up falling out! My ring is insured-they will take care of anything that happens-diamonds, metal-anything. I would suggest that to anyone who is buying one. Anyway, it's been more than fine since then (I think it was a fluke thing).

I know that in the beginning, I left it sit a couple of mornings when I was in a hurry. I don't forget it anymore (although I'm sure I will at some point). A couple of people asking...where is your ring? was enough for me to remember it Smiley smile

I only take it off while I'm working out (my fingers swell up when I am), doing dishes (my mother lost hers down the sink once), or in the shower.

I must have been really tired to fall asleep without it hahaha

I have been without my ring since yesterday (it is at the Jewelers so they can fit my wedding bands) and I have been freaking out thinking I lost it or forgot to put it on. I too am touching my finger like all the time lol. It is so strange not having it on :/

It has become an extension of my left hand. I don't even notice it when it is on, but I notice it right away when it is not. About a month or so, I was helping microchip dogs for the animal rescue that I volunteer with. Well the dog moved and the other person totally got my ring finger with the needle. I had to take off my ring because it obviously wouldn't fit with the bandaid and tried to wear it on my right hand. It felt soooooo weird. I had to just take it off and put it in my pocket lol.

I am always checking the stones though. The center diamond was my grandmother's (originally great grandmothers) and I am very paranoid about it. The last time we were at the jewelers and the cleaned and polished up my ring real nice, one of my small pave diamonds came out in the steamer. I noticed it about a minute after they gave it back to me and they fixed it back up but I'm always making sure everything is safe and where they should be.

YUP! I had just gotten mine cleaned, and I was taking it off when I put lotion on in the morning. Welp, I got to scurrying / running late and left for work without it! I was just down the street when I realized, so I turned around to get it (thank God!). I felt so guilty that I forgot to put it back on, LOL! good to know we aren't alone in this ...

Hey sweet our wedding is the same weekend. I personally lose expensive jewelry so my wedding band is only $250 but you should have seen me the day I proposed, I almost left the ring at work (I went straight from work to the zoo where I proposed) fortunately my partner (at work) has an eagle eye and called me right before I got to the interstate.

Last weekend I left it on the stand next to my shower and FH kept laghing all day at me cause I'd look at my finger and frown. It kind of felt like I was naked or something it really does become a part of you.

I take mine off at night and have a little silver rabbit on the nightstand that I put my rings on. Sometimes if I'm home all day, I'll not put it on and it feels weird; but have yet to walk out the door and forget (knock on wood). Have to see when FH starts wearing his wedding band, he is usually forgetful about stuff.

I take my ring off when I am cleaning or exercising. TODAY actually, I put it in my zip pocket while doing my PT test. I thought I lost it because I couldnt find it in my pocket...I put it in the right pocket instead the left one. =] My heart dropped lol.

But I feel naked without mine even when I am cleaning.
