I got a surprise bridal shower! Need help with thank yous!!!!

Clare316, on August 16, 2011 at 2:18 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I was so shocked Friday when everyone at my work threw me a surprise bridal shower! It was so sweet, and I had no idea. They tricked me and told me we were having a meeting, but when I walked in they had catered food, a cake, and tons of presents! The best part was, everyone put money into a card....which I later counted and it was nearly $1000!!!! FH and I are sooo happy, all our last minute wedding and honeymoon expenses are covered. But now for the tricky part, how do I thank everyone? A few ppl got stuff off the registry, so I'll send regular thank yous for that. (cont'd)

But how do I thank everyone who signed the card? The thing is, i know some people probably just signed the card, and others put over $100 in it. I was thinking bring in a big breakfast for everyone and say thank you? Or should I still send everyone thank you notes? Please help!!!!

That is so sweet!!!! Btw - love the swing!

I think a written thank you card for everyone & a catered breakfast (if you can afford it) would be a fabulous way to let them know it was appreciated. If the breakfast is too pricey - you can always bring in a basket baked treats (cookies, brownies, etc.)

Or write a thank you card and just include the money thing in a tactful way.. something along the lines of "FH and I will never forget the loving gesture and appreciate your support!" Keep it generic unless you specifically know they gave you a gift. Smiley smile

Thats was a nice gesture, I would bring baked goodies and coffee & tea. I am sure your co-workers would appreciate it Smiley smile

That was very thoughtful of your coworkers. I would definently give everyone a thank you card and maybe a bring in baked treats as Kimi K suggested.

I agree with Kimi...I think you should do a quick hand written thank you card...and bagels or muffins are affordable Smiley smile

    Dear Co-Worker,

I am so grateful to work with such wonderful people. It was such a surprise to walk into the shower you and our fellow co-workers threw for me last week. Groom and I want to thank you so much for thinking of us. We have been saving for a honeymoon to _____ and have added your gift to our special account. It was so thoughtful of you.

    Thank you so Much,

    Bride

    (something like this???)

Thanks ladies you're all so helpful! I think I'm going to combine all your ideas, and bring in a breakfast for everyone tomorrow, then send thank you notes later. We're having thank you cards made with our wedding picture by the photographers- that way everyone can see a pic of us on the big day.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance!!
