Me and my fiance have a difficult time looking for the perfect wedding we don't seem to make up our minds of having a religious even though I want a big wedding and he doesn't agree

That’s tough. I think you both have to be on the same page before you can start wedding planning and looking for venues and vendors. Perhaps you and your fiancé can sit down and talk about your individual visions and then come up with a compromise for each important detail - budget, venue, etc. However, you will both have to enter the conversation with an open mind and know that you may/will not get your way on everything. Keep talking — I’m hopeful that you two will be able to figure it out.

Can you compromise and have a medium sized religious wedding?

You need to get on the same page and compromise before you do any planning.

That is tough. Try to meet in the middle somewhere to find a wedding that both of you would be happy with. I wouldn't plan anything until you have your vision worked out.

By vision, I just mean like a general idea of the details. How many guests will you invite? Is it just closest friends and family or all your coworkers and distant relatives, too? What kind of venue do you want: beach, ballroom, museum, barn, etc? What kind of food do you want? What kind of ceremony do you want? Will it be secular, generally religious, or traditionally religious? Also, it is good to know what you can afford or what you are comfortable spending on the wedding. It all adds up quickly, and I would highly recommend that you don't go into debt for the wedding.
