You could create a newlywed fund on the knot, where you can explain what you will put the money given towards (ie, a downpayment on your new house). I might think about doing that in addition to a few traditional things in your registry (maybe replacing some tired household items if needed?)

If you aren’t having a shower it’s fine to not have a registry. Most people will give cash or check at a wedding.

We're not registering. Some people get all offended at the thought of a honeyfund, and they charge fees. On our website I'm thinking of putting something like,
Where are you registered?
We're not! Your presence is our present. We have a very small and very packed kitchen, we're hoping to remodel to make more space for everything we already have!
Hopefully people will get the hint and give cash to help us remodel

We have plenty of things but I still appreciated getting new high quality bedding, new matching towels, and some random kitchen items I wouldn’t just go buy for myself.

I went through our kitchen and made a list of the stuff I wanted to replace. Then we went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I ended up scanning mostly stuff I’d never have thought to put on the registry. I also learned that I definitely need a second store because apparently I’m picky 😉. Definitely go through what you already have and figure out what’s getting old and what would be nice to have new (or what you’d be replacing soon).

We put stuff that we needed to replace (like our hand me down dishes), and stuff that seems off the wall but that we would use (magnetic screen for the dogs).
