i just need to vent

So last year fiance and I were planning to get married in Key West and have our honeymoon there but then last November, our families were getting upset cause they wanted us to get married here in Chicago. So we decided to change our mind. Then recently, my fiance told me that he wish we went with our original plan cause he feels like we wouldn't enjoy ourselves. So hearing that from him made me feel upset. But when he saw I got upset, immediately he just said forget about it. I just can't stop thinking about it.

I mean you both wanted Key West for a reason right? He's probably just dissapointed the plan didn't work out and that's a normal feeling.

Hey there! I’m sorry that you are feeling upset, especially so close to your wedding. You should try and talk about this with your FH. You both made the decision to change your wedding plans to Chicago so even though it is not your original plans, you will get to celebrate with your close family which is obviously important to you. Of course you will have a wonderful wedding day, but you should both head into your day feeling positive about it and not secretly thinking that it is second best to Key West.
Have you booked your honeymoon yet? Perhaps spending a bit of time planning it and acknowledging that you will still have plenty of time alone to celebrate together will help your FH see that he can still have the best of both situations.
