i know it’s my wedding but…

Hgilbert, on April 1, 2022 at 12:15 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21
Can I do Earth/Jewel/Copper tones for my spring wedding? Is that tacky? I originally wanted a fall wedding but with my job it just isn’t going to be possible (elections 🙄) so we have settled on April. I am a very natural/neutral gal and I have noticed a lot of spring weddings are colorful and I am just not into it! Please give me all the advice!!

Earth tones exist in nature year round so you can use those as those as your colors if you wish. No faux pas about it.

Thank you! I just have a fear of it looking like a “fall” wedding with the color schemes I adore so much!

Not tacky. Tacky is when you spend all your money on a fancy dress and don't serve enough food to your guests. Or making them wait an hour before your ceremony. The color schemes you stated are never tacky

Feel free to pick whatever colors you want! We are using a color palette (Marsala and Blush) that is often listed under Fall weddings on Pinterest for our April wedding. We simply liked the colors, and thought they went well with our venue.

You're totally fine! Earth tones and coppers are pretty neutral, so they can work with any season. You could mix in some pastels if you want a more "spring-y" vibe to balance out deeper jewel tones, but it's your call. No rules about when you can use whichever colors Smiley smile

I feel like picking color palettes based on the season is primarily so the colors will look good based on the amount of light for that time of year (for example, dark colors can look even starker in bright sunlight like you would have in the summer).

Your colors will be just fine. I would not worry about following the trends at all. Earth tones are present in nature year round and copper is taking the place of your metallic accent of choice. No issues there!

I would look at what flowers are in season in April to help with your choices. In season color/flowers will cut costs (and headaches) a LOT.

You should be able to do whatever you want. If it makes you and your partner happy, do it! It's your guy's day and I like those colors. We are doing purple and yellow for our wedding because those are my favorite colors and it makes us happy.

I was thinking of doing a lot of my own flowers to cut cost, but this is a great idea so I can look at all the colors that are in season to make an easier choice!

That’s awesome! I have gone to Pinterest for some inspiration and I think my “fall” colors might actually also work for spring as they’re all super neutral. Being happy is #1!

Aww, I am so happy they will compliment well with the spring season. Yeah some neutral/earthy tones can go well with spring and others are better for fall but its each their own and in the end it's whatever makes you happiest.
