I cannot believe this happened on my third day in Florida. I had it yesterday and today i was going out and could not find it! OMG. My SS and Drivers license are in there plus other important things. Has this ever happened to anyone here. I feel so bad! I already called my bank to cancel my cc but I have 3 more... Smiley sad

Just make sure you call and cancel right away. If you think it may have been stolen, then call the police and file a report right away also. Reporting it missing immediately should help you if it turns out that someone has used your cards, that way you hopefully won't be liable for any fraudulant charges...

Sorry to hear Smiley sad but you're doing right by canceling.... if you don't have the # to the other cc's just google the cc name and you're sure to get a customer service #

Getting your social and Driver's license again will take some filling forms out and paying for them again... but like unique said all is recoverable

Tell your FH...he can probably help calm you down and help you get everything done. If you can't find it, do everything the above brides mentioned and make sure you check your credit report for fraud.

I was robbed and lost all of that and much more in my purse. It ends up being totally fine. It may be a pain in the butt but just think, you'll get a new license photo! Smiley smile Follow what everyone says about canceling cards immediately and you'll be okay. Also go to your bank and let them know it was stolen and they'll rush getting you a new card etc.

Thank you guys. It helps to know I'm not the only one this has happened to. Thank God I did not have all my CCs there. Do I need to file a police report? I already cancelled my ccs.

This happened to me, while my younger sister was living with me her and her friend brought 2 guys back they meant at a party. One of the guys stole my wallet right out of my purse and her friends also. I was at work the next day and ordered food and went to pay the guy and no wallet, very embarrassing!

I ended up calling her to see if i left it on my desk, and they realized hers was missing too. Her dad was a cop he sent the state police over and the report got filed. I had so much shit i had to cancel Smiley sad later that day some lady 2 towns over calls me that she found my wallet and contents spread across her front lawn!

You are doing the right thing, just get everything canceled and don't stress out to much over it!

You should try and file one, however they may not let you and may just allow you to make a 'desk note'. Either way, they have it on file just in CASE it happens to turn up Smiley smile

All of my stuff turned up when they caught the man who attempted to murder me and robbed me. Needless to say, I no longer needed the items bc I had replaced them and they were declared state evidence. I'll never get them back.

I've lost my wallet more times than I can remember - once I left it on the tray in macdonalds and tipped it into the bin and didn't realise until I tried to pay in another shop.

@Miss Carly, thank God he didn't hurt you. Your wallet and stuff could be replaced but not your life.

@Kirsty, so what did you do?

He did hurt me, he smashed in my face with the intent to kill (or so that was assumed), thats what I mean by attempted murder. But thank GOD I survived and thank God for plastic surgeons.

Holy moly Carly! That is crazy!! So glad that you are ok though, that's so scary.

LC, I would also suggest reporting the stolen SS card to the credit agencies. I did this when my purse was stolen back in the day. They put a hold on my social security number for 7 years (I think) which made it a pain in the butt when I wanted to apply for a new credit card but also ensures that someone cannot easily use it for fraud. Oh, and now I never carry my SS card with me unless I need it. I keep it in my important papers files!

I'm so sorry. My iPhone has vanished from within my house and I feel like it's something as critical as my wallet, so I'm feeling your pain.

Yeah it was crazy and still feels like I'm talking about a Lifetime movie when I speak to others about it.

LC- it'll be ok! Make you let Social Security Administration know about your ssn card being in your wallet if the wallet doesn't turn up. I've also heard good things about Lifelock. It's like $13 a month but they protect your identity (a friend of mine left his wallet in his car and his car was broken into).

Miss Carly- O....M.....G! How terrifying! I'm so glad you're all right! I'm glad they caught the guy too!!

I am sorry that you cannot find your wallet. I hope that it turns up in "one of those silly places". My house keys turned up in my PO Box, as I had left them hanging in the door of the box. LOL!

One thing to remember....never, ever, EVER carry your SS card with you. It should be kept in a very secure place and never carried around in your wallet.

On found wallet note, I was in one of my accounts today. I went in to the backroom to bring out some extra wines that we had back there and saw something on the floor by the Meat Dept. I walked over and saw money sticking out of it. Yep, it was a little canvas wallet. I took it to the Meat Dept and the employee said that he would turn it in. He did and I heard them page the owner. Hopefully they were still in the store. Beauty is, the wallet was found and is in safe keeping until its owner comes back to look for it.

Cancel everything like everyone has told you. A couple summers ago, I was working at a little place as a hospitality coordinator and I was in charge of all the shopping and my wallet was stolen right out of my purse ... It was probably the 2nd most terrifying day of my life ... because when you think about it, how much of that stuff we carry with us has all sorts of information about us on it ...

Carly ... OMG! I'm so glad you are safe!

Im sry LC, I don't recall losing my wallet and not finding it immediately. But I did find this man's wallet in Walmart. I opened his wallet to see his name and all these folded up 100 dollar bills fell out. He wallet was super thick (credit cards galore). So I did count it lol and it was $1400 inside. I turned the wallet in and all was good. But there has been sooo many occasions where I have found money. So I hope whoever finds it, returns it with everything still in tact.
