Katherine Bujosa, on September 17, 2015 at 5:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 33

Hi to all the future brides on here! I'm getting married on June 4th of next year and I have yet to find our venue. We are on a very & I mean very tight budget! But we want something elegant & timeless. We were looking into Outdoor Ceremony & reception on the same place! Something classy/vintage. Maybe like a creek/Garden but all we have for the wedding is about $10,000 this is the budget for everything! I'm in the Southern California area, but willing to travel 1-2 hours away if I have to! Thank you so much beautiful brides! I'm stressing out Smiley sad

How many guests? I'd think that for 50, you could absolutely do it, with photography, dress, music.

Timeless and elegant on a very lean budget is doable -- if the guest list is small. A budget of $10K can go a long way to host 40 - 50 guests. If you are planning on hosting 100 or more, you're going to have to get very creative. How many are you inviting?

The Centerpiece Flowers, I will have 100. We were having more due to large family...but we had to cut down second cousins & no kids (with exception of the few kids who will participate in the wedding) I am like trying to DIY all the décor or most of it lol!!!

I live about 4 hours from So Cal and a lot of the venues are reasonable around here, but it is farther than you want to travel. Wish I could help! Good luck!

What do you mean by Southern California area? You can travel within LA for 1-2 hours, so can you be more specific?

And 10k for 100 people is gonna be really difficult. You can try to be creative and do it at a time when a full meal is not expected.

Christina, you're awesome thank you so much! Smiley smile

But honestly since we are having just close family & are in desperate need for a venue as the ones I described, do you mind telling me which venues you were referring to? Smiley smile

If we must travel 3 hours more than what we planned. We'd do it!

CBtoCL, I live in Southern Ca. (LA County) But I am willing to book my venue in any city that's in Southern Ca. It doesn't have to be within LA County.

That's very true, it's starting to be a little difficult on me... :/

Check out the Wedgewood properties. There are about 6 in Southern California, and they are budget friendly all inclusive. I've been very happy with my experience so far.

Sarah, Thanks so much! I did call them because they seem very reasonable & flexible to add and/or take away things you don't need. Which location are you doing yours if you don't mind me asking? I saw that some locations are more expensive than others.

I'm at the Orchard in Menifee. The coordinator has been the BEST. And I feel like I haven't had to sacrifice anything at ALL because of budget. I actually had extra money left to hit the minimum until I got some extra RSVPs we weren't expecting. The convenience factor is also a HUGE plus.

I was at a gorgeous wedding at Tivoli Terrace that had a vintage/garden feel. I have no idea what the cost was, but it seems to be all inclusive. They even do the cake themselves.

I'm also attending one at the Castaway soon, and I know that bride had a budget. My FMIL is getting married at Lake Mission Viejo, but the main problem there is you can't reserve the space until 3 months ahead. She is definitely planning her wedding with a low budget in mind. A cousin of mine also got married at a golf course in Fountain Valley - also seemed pretty inclusive and their budget was pretty low - it did have a nice ceremony space surrounded by hedges.

I'm getting married at a Wedgewood location, and I know they have several down there. You can definitely tailor the packages to cost as little or as much as you want. I think we're saving money by going with them.

Sara, thank you so much! I hope that your experience and your planning keeps going great 7 you have an amazing wadding day!! Smiley smile

I have a question regarding their Per/Person packaging pricing. I see that for a "Gold" they have $80 for a hundred. Do you know if that is only for the reception & not the ceremony?

At least at mine, there is a flat fee for the ceremony in addition to the per person reception price.

If you go off season at Wedgewood you can get the ceremony site free, too. They had a winter deal for ceremony site and officiant free. We found our own officiant so they applied it to the DOC. Hello 1k in my pocket.

I read this article a couple weeks back, and I thought the venues on this list looked pretty awesome (:

If I was having my wedding down here instead of in Northern CA, I might have looked into the Penthouse location.

The first one might be close to what you're looking for (:
