My fiancé and I are having a Destination Wedding in Jamaica. My mother in law and my fiancé got into a huge argument a few months ago and she insisted that she will not be attending our wedding. BUT last night she told me privately that she wants to surprise him and just show up the day of the wedding. Can you guys help me with ideas on how we can pull this off. Or how we should “deliver” her to him. Should she just show up at the ceremony? Or should she pop up at his room when he’s getting ready? I’m open to suggestions. I’m overly excited and thankful that she had a change of heart. 😃😃😃❤️❤️❤️

Just to follow up here. My fiancé and his mom and stepdad are also in the midst of some very big disagreements. For the last 2 months or so, they have been telling FH that they won't be attending (don't want to get into why). FH has made it very clear to me that if they give a final RSVP of not attending, that they will not be welcome and will be turned away if they change their minds at the last minute. This is solely because of the anguish they put him through by saying they're not coming (and they've been dragging this out for a while now), not because he doesn't want them there. I strongly encourage you to not have your MIL be a surprise.

This seems like a bad idea. What if they have another fight? What if he starts to resent her for not approaching him and taking back her "I'm not coming to the wedding"? Your fiance sounds to be hurting now thinking that his mom isn't coming. Please tell him in advance.
