Have you decided on a budget yet? Season? City? Draft guest list? Usually the season and budget are the place to start - then once you have that in place you can start looking at everything else.

Yes I got our budget city and it’s the fall like August. Still working on the guest list

Once you have a rough estimate of guest count, such as around 75 or 100, etc... then venue. Once you have venue booked, you can move on to all of the other vendors! Good luck!

Melissa and Brianna are spot on. I also wouldn't worry so much about colors until after venue. I had colors picked out and then realized that they would look awful in our venue. If the colors you chose are that important, make sure that the venue works with those colors rather than clashing. You want your colors and decor to work along with the venue, so keep that in mind when touring the venues. After venue, it's good to solidify other vendors like photographers and DJs who are also day of commitments.

Venue was my first thing because that determined how much we would be spending. Since we wanted a small wedding I found that many venues I liked wouldn't work for us because they had guest minimums.
