I need more expensive registry items?! What is your most expensive?

Goodbye, on October 14, 2013 at 1:52 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 31

My cousin, aunt and grandmother have all told me that I 'need' to put more expensive items on our registry.

Accessing it I have a $240 vacuum, a $150 water & fire proof chest, a $200 Le Creuset stonewear set, a $120 NuWave oven and a $200 comforter set. Everything else is $100 and under.

What is the most expensive thing you registered for? I already have a brand new set of pots and a kitchen aide stand mixer that have never been used (engagement gifts).

My kitchenaid stand mixer for $350. Some other items that were $200+ were our pots & pans, the Ninja blender, a margarita machine, a floor fan, our bed sheets, a down comforter and I think that's it...so far we have been blessed to receive all of these items!

Wüsthof Precision Santoku Knife, 7" $149.95

Calvin Klein Tinted Wake Queen Comforter $340

    Simply Fine Lenox® Chirp 16-Piece Dinnerware Set $299 (and I want 3 sets) :/

The comforter is ridiculous. I have to change that.

I think if you don't want to register for more then don't but if there is something you want then add it.

The most expensive thing I had was a $600 china set which included 8 place settings plus serve ware...but it was constantly going on sale for $300 and I know that is what it was purchased at!

FH's cousin had a $500 knife set on her registry. Last I saw, no one bought it.

So far, the most expensive thing on ours is the food processor ($99) :/ I agree that if you don't need it, don't put it on. If they want to spend more money, they can just buy you multiple gifts.

    LMAO Out the Window!

When we registered for the engagement party we needed new sheets, I had explained to my FI the difference of thread count and material, he went around feeling all the samples and scanned a set that was nearly $200, when he realized he had a mini panic attack. Needless to say we didn't register for sheets that day and he was so relieved when I brought home an amazing set from Target that was only $60.

I really want to take off the vase, but FH said he scanned it so it needs to stay. I don't understand the logic. If anyone buys it, I'm returning it for something else.

I had bedding that totaled $1,200. It was ridiculous, but if I was going to upgrade I wanted to do it right. My pots & pans were in the $500 range. I think those were the most expensive items I had on my registry. I also had luggage which was a little pricier. The only thing I didn't get was the bedding. Oh well.

If you don't have a memory foam mattress topper, that may be something to look into. I think they're usually around $300 and they are soooo comfy!

My problem will be that I already have most of the things people list. I have owned my house for over 14 years. I have nice pots and sharp knives (Emeril), and about 10 cookie sheets (pampered chef and wilton, and I use all of them at Christmas cookie time) and a Kitchenaid Stand mixer I bought off a friend for $100 that she had used once. My friend and now BM was a Pampered Chef dealer so I have almost all of the stuff I want from them. I really do not know what to put on registry. I walked through Bed Bath and Beyond after my engagement and honestly only came up with new sheets and and ice cream maker I thought I would use. We could use a new mattress set and a new couch, does that count?

Kitchen aid was my highest. I also had a vacuum. Didn't get either :-( I can seem to put the money out myself, even gifts from the wedding.

Knives are also a great choice, a good knife makes the biggest difference. Nice sheets? I don't really think you need more expensive items. People will either buy multiple items if they want to spend more, or give cash. Only ask for what you need/want.

I have a house as well so I don't need a million toasters so I'm putting crazy stuff like gardening tools and power tools cuz we don't have any of that, I'm also upgrading to nicer sheets and stuff and a new lawn mower, as guest, I would rather buy something u need, no matter how ridiculous it seems, instead of something just cuz it's pretty

My cookware is the most expensive - at $400. I know no one will buy it but I wanted the option. Most of the things we registered for a far below $200

The most expensive thing on my registry is the Kitchen Aid mixer at 299.

everything else is under $50...we only have 30 items on it too....I hate registries, but did one to appease some of the other side of the family.....

We went to Pottery Barn and I put a bunch of furniture on there...totaling like 5,000 lol. Not that I expect people to buy it AT ALL but I get 10% off after the wedding for anything left on my refistry and I'm definitely upgrading my college hand-me-downs! But we also put fun stuff like "man room" stuff for FH, nice sheets, towels, and expensive silverware ($50 for a 4 piece set and I want 6)

KitchenAid stand mixer $319 (currently on sale)

Fine china of some sort $125 per place setting

    Soda Stream ($100)

I think everything else is under $100 on ours, no one is complaining :p

I have a Kitchenaid on ours. We would like one, but I doubt anyone buys it. I didn't even want to register because we're having a DW, but I was pressured to do it anyway.
