i need to find some terracotta bridesmaid dresses but it isn’t a common color

Taylor, on September 4, 2020 at 4:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 16
I want to use terracotta bridesmaid dresses as I am doing a fall wedding. The groomsmen will be in navy. The only websites that I have found with terracotta dresses under $200 are birdy grey and revelry. However, the ones from revelry are velvet and my bridesmaids don’t want to wear velvet. And birdy grey released their terracotta dresses recently so no one has posted pictures or reviews yet. My wedding is over a year away so it’s not like I’m in a hurry but if I end up not liking the terracotta dresses then I have to change the flowers and reception area tablecloths. Does anyone know of some good websites for me to find these dresses in terracotta that are reasonably priced? And I would prefer they sell the matching ties for groomsmen as well

The thing is you might not be able to find anything because of specifically looking up the name terracotta. for instance some other places might call it rust or dusty orange or whatever, ya know?

so definitely try azazie and davids bridal and kennedy blue because they might have similar colors but are named differently.

Every manufacturer has their own color name but they are in the same color family.

Take a look at Cocomelody, Azazie, Dessy, Mori Lee, Watters, Bill Levkoff, etc

Ah! I just want to say I'm jealous, lol. Our wedding colors were supposed to be copper and navy but copper is really hard to find for general decor -- not to mention finding a similar rust color for groomsmen suits.

(I gave up, so we're going with navy dresses and light grey suits, but we'll still have small pops of copper in other spots!)

The Birdy Grey ones do look quite lovely!

Check Kennedy Blue and Azazie. They may not call it terracotta, but they have similar colors. Swatches from both companies are affordable and arrive quickly, too.
For Kennedy Blue, their cinnamon is a true burnt orange. I have a dress from them in that color. I had ordered a swatch of spice as well, and it may be more of what you’re looking for. The colors look different in person.

I agree with the others who have suggested that different brands will use different names to describe similar colors. Terracotta might be called copper, rust, burnt orange, clay, earth, sienna, chestnut, cinnamon, spice, nutmeg, pumpkin, or any other number of names.

I had a plan to find a variety of terra-cotta dresses for my bridesmaids and I found it extremely hard-I can find anything on the Internet. Have you seen Shona Joy dresses? They are amazing and have a perfect terra-cotta color but they are like silky or satin so won’t look great on every body type and they’re around $300. I also ordered a bunch of swatches from dear cleo, show me your mumu, azazie, JJ house, David’s and probably some more I forget. They all have colors kinda close to terra-cotta but more like rust. I’m gonna attach a ton of dresses I found and I can help if you need to know where any are from specifically. i need to find some terracotta bridesmaid dresses but it isn’t a common color 1

Remember that when ne BM dresses are added each 6 months, new color shades are in, and some from the past year are two are discontinued. So that by the time your ladies need to order at under 6 months, there will be a new wave of colors.

What color are you looking for? post a swatch. There are a huge number of colors called tc, with pinkish, reddish or orangy undertones, while some are distinctly closer to mango or sienna. Please post your choice of an ideal terra cotta.

Did you get these dresses? I am wondering what they look like in person. Someone sent me a picture of theirs in person but it looked more orange than terracotta!

I’ve ordered from them before as a bridesmaid in a friends wedding. It was a different color dress though. But I know you can order fabric swatches from them to see if the color is right for you!
