Hello everyone!

My name is Jennifer and I got engage this past Sunday (8/12/18) after my mom passing, I always wanted to get married in Ecuador. Both of my parents were born there and I know being there with my mothers family especially my gma, I would feel closer to my mother. I know our friends and few of my family wont have an issue to go to Ecuador, but I know his family wont go. I already had a few telling me. So I guess my question is can I get married in State just getting married through court and a small ceremony for the ones that cant go, and than have my big wedding in Ecuador, which is the church and reception.

Also, if I do get married through court can I still get married through the church?

You can do that. Although you will already technically be married so the ceremony will be "fake." You could just have the reception down there. Or have your ceremony and reception down there and come back and have like a small get together with his family.

Yes, you could have a civil ceremony in the US and then have a vow renewal in Ecuador. You'll have to ask the church that you want to get use n Ecuador whether they will allow this or not.

Have the ceremony and reception in Ecuador and then throw a 2nd reception in the U.S. for those who couldn't be present abroad.

You could do the ceremony and reception in Ecuador and have an at home reception here for those who can't attend. Or you could do a small civil ceremony and reception here and a vow renewal in Ecuador but, you'd have to check with the Church there regarding the rules around it.
