I need help! So growing up my dad was not involved at all. My mom mostly raised me alone b she was a horrible mother. She has done many insane and terrible things to me over the years, as recent as a few months ago. I do what I can to keep a relationship with her but absolutely do not want her to walk me down the aisle. I want my grandmother to walk me down the aisle, but my mom has a bad relationship with her mother and will be furious...both will be at the wedding. Should I just ask my grandmother or not? I don’t want to regret not having her do it but I also don’t want wedding drama.

Hi Heather, I love this idea!! If I were in your shoes, I would let mom know first so she’s not surprised. Perhaps have a special role for mom up your sleeve to tell her about so she still feels included. Easier said then done, but just let her know after a great deal of thought, you will be asking your grandmother to walk you down the aisle. Good luck ❤️

Based on your description of your mom, I'm surprised you would invite her. Your wedding, your choice so ask your grandma if you want. Whomever raised you or didn't does not determine who walks you down the aisle

It’s your fault and you should have whoever you want walk you down the aisle. I think that’s very sweet and I’m sure your grandmother will be honored. Don’t worry about what others think.

How about no one? Walk down the aisle looking toward your future rather than choosing one person from your past over another. No matter whom you choose, someone will end up with hurt feelings.
