Just Said Yes July 2019

i want my wedding pictures back soooooooo bad....or at least a picture.

So it's been about twelve weeks and we haven't gotten one picture from our wedding photographer. This would be fine considering our contract says we will get back photos 18 weeks or less (if I were to go back in time I probably would have picked someone with a shorter turn around time, but at the time we just didn't think about it); however, she gave back other couple's pictures within a few weeks of their wedding, one of which was after our wedding. Granted, these may just be sneak peaks, but why would other people get pictures back so soon, but we wouldn't? It makes me worry that she either didn't like us, or she doesn't like our shots as much as the other couple's. I really didn't want to bother her, but I think my husband got tired of me talking about it so he decided to message her and ask when we could expect to get our photos back. She said we will get a sneak peek very soon and she will get us our pictures in about a month and half. She told my husband that she's working on a wedding from before ours, and once she is done she will have room to export our pictures into her computer. This would all be well and good except I know for a fact she's already edited pictures for a wedding that was after ours! I just don't get why she would upload theirs within less than a month, but not upload ours until now. Are there any photographers out there who can give me some sort of an explanation!? It is hard enough to wait, but watching other people get their pictures back sooner just really makes it ten times worse.

The people getting their pictures back sooner may have paid extra for that. I understand the frustration, but if your contract says 18 weeks and it's only been 12 then there's really no room to be angry as they haven't failed to meet the terms agreed upon. The other clients may be a different situation one way or another, maybe even someone they know personally. Not saying I agree with it if that's the case, but as long as your photographer hasn't violated the contract, I would leave it be.

Smiley sad I haven't gotten a lot of mine back either and it's also been three months but then again my friends did it for me for free so can't complain aha but I do see them do and post other things they've been working on instead of mine so I guess it wasn't a priority.

I had something similar happen to me. I saw my photographer post pictures from weddings after mine but I still hadn't even received a sneak peak so I asked her about that. I told her that I had seen her post pictures of weddings after mine. She immediately apologized, sent me about 5 sneak peaks, and then 2 weeks later sent me all my pictures. Sometimes you just need to speak up for yourself. However, I wouldn't be super demanding yet until you hit week 18 since that is what is in your contract. But I would let her know what you know so she knows you're watching what she posts.

Have you reached out to her and asked? Our photographer quoted us 2-3 weeks for our photos but said we could expect a sneak peak within a few days. Well, 9 days passed and nothing, so I emailed her and she sent two gorgeous photos right away.

Similar thing happened with our video, they said 2-3 months for that one and at the 3 month mark I reached out and turned out they thought they had sent it to me already but hadn’t!

Photographers are super busy and frazzled all the time lol, if they’re past the timeframe they gave you and you haven’t reached out I recommend doing so and nicely just asking what’s going on, say youre super excited to see the photos and you just want to know when to expect it!
