I wish I had thought of that!

Julean, on July 15, 2011 at 4:20 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

Any married brides ever see stuff on here and think to yourself, "Wow! I wish I had seen or thought of that for my wedding!"

I spent so much time on this site planning my wedding, and now I think it wasn;t enough! LOL

My day was perfect and beautiful but I have seen so many ideas I never even imagined Smiley smile

I am REALLY liking the colored socks on the men. That would have been a fun picture with my theme.

My biggest thing I think was alternatives to floral bouquets. I couldn;t use real flowers at my venue, and for some reason I thought that meant I needed to use silk flowers. I love the looks of Fabric flowers, and alternatives like buttons, feathers, etc

I didnt see it on here but had an "i wish i woulda thought of that sooner" moment. FH and I were talking about his bach party- the guys are still trying to plan what to do.... and they were talking about renting a house but most places had a 2 night min. and the boys dont want to stay 2 nights- most cant and theres not that many of them to make it worth it in their minds.... BUT if he would have picked his BM a long time ago he could have been planning around the same time my MOH was and we could have rented a really nice house for 2 nights and had the girls go one night and the boys the next!

Hotels are ok- but a house is much better! oh well.... too late now!

Not even married and I already have that! The biggest problem is that I DO have time to change things around, but if I chased every idea, I'd drive myself crazy so I really am trying to keep a general feel to the wedding.. but some things are just way too awesome!

    - make sure your crinoline is made of anything but polyester

    - wash on delicate (with delicate soap) to be sure there isn’t any sizing or fixer in the fabric

    - put towels - plastic bags down around you and washer

    - fill washer 1/2 way with hot water - don't let it agitate yet..

    - put in (2) 8 oz bottles of dye and let it agitate for 10 sec

    - Put on the rubber gloves. Lay the wet crinoline around the machine agitator, pushing it into the water. Keep it below the water to encourage absorption of the dye. Allow the machine to agitate for about 30 minutes. Stop the washer

    - remove - untwist - and place back over the agitator and under the dye - let soak for

30 min - no agitator (trying to not get tie-dye affect)

    - take out once more - straighten - put back in - set washer to cold for rinse

    - You need to keep restarting the rinse cycle until the water in the washer is clear.

    - Wash the crinoline on a medium load setting on a delicate, short cycle in cold water. Remove, smooth, hang

    Some fun, non-floral

    wheat, burlap roses, feathers

    broaches, paper flowers

    cloth flowers, buttons, wire

    pinwheels - fun summer idea

    lanterns - pretty winter idea
