i won?

So I live in VT but I am getting married at home in PA, so my mom has been going to bridal shows on my bahalf. I get this text today (attAched) and I am wondering if any other girls have actually gone through with this experience. If so, how was it?

It's basically a party where the reps let you try on their products and they try to sell it to you. You didn't really "win" per say since they usually get someone (either you or the ladies you invite) to buy their products. But if you're pretty adamant about not buying products, it can be a fun experience with your friends.

Okay, I'm jaded about Multi-Level Marketing anyway so others may give you a different opinion. As far as I know, every bride who fills out a card with David's Bridal "wins" a Mary Kay "facial". Facial is in quotes because she is just going to put tiny dots of a Mary Kay skin line all over a plastic tray and then walk you through the order to apply them on yourself. The "makeovers" are the same thing with makeup, and then she'll sit you down individually with an order form and politely pressure you to buy a kit.

If you want to blow a couple of hours doing something with a friend, it's not terrible, but it is not a real facial or spa day, it is a sales pitch for decent but overpriced skin care. Trust me, I "won"at an event at my college once, went, was completely underwhelmed and uncomfortable, and left $200 lighter because I was gullible and couldn't say no to peer pressure to buy.

This is basically a sales gimmick from a Mary Kay consultant. I think everyone "wins." You get what's offered but will also be pushed into buying Mary Kay products.

My sister is an MK consultant, this is a current promo they are doing where the consultants give customers or potential customers makeovers and then they post a photo to social media with a certain hashtag and then the consultant with the most posts wins a trip to NYC? or its randomly chosen? Not sure. The person that posts the photo also wins a trip to NYC too.

Yeah I "won" one of those too but I never signed up for anything with Mary Kay. When I bought my tickets for the bridal show I hadn't set up my wedding email account yet so I ended up getting a lot of spam just from that because the bridal shows sell your contact information.

Is this from Mary-Kay? I have gotten similar texts from their consultants. They basically want you to have a party and expect you and others to buy things after your free trials. I've started telling them no and won't give my email or number.

Yea it is from Mary Kay. I told her I would get back to her, but I most likely won’t.

I have been getting nonstop emails from one saying I won. I didn't even attend the wedding show, I was out of town. Its a sales tactic.

I would tell her you are not interested - or else she will keep texting you

I won this. The makeover was lame and the whole thing was pitch to sell me hundreds of dollars of stuff and to try and make me a consultant. Not enjoyable at all.

Yeah I've won this too. It's basically a waste of time and they try to push you to buy a bunch of stuff or try to get you to become a consultant too.

I "won" too....but when I tried to contact the person I "won" it from she stopped returning my messages...so really I "won" nothing but a a few wasted hours trying to get information from them...Needless to say, I was less than impressed.
