Well u can have a christmas tree as a decor hot chocolate could be an opt for the drinks. Chicken or ham , with mashpotatos, just the regular stuff u eat on christmas.

start googling winter fairytale to start to get ur creative mind rolling thats how i started & i ended up with a cinderella theme & even got some cinderella invites too. U can also try to find invites that totally fit your theme as well!

    Happy planning Smiley smile

Here's a wedding I shot last December. Jessica's wedding theme was Winter Wonderland. While her colors were periwinkle blue and white, I could definitely see changing some of her decor to purple and red. Hope this helps. Smiley smile

I love those photos! I like how she did the winter wonderland where it wasn't snowy!

I agree with Lucinda - Hot chocolate, or even apple cider... winter comfort foods... oh! you could wrap your favor boxes in wrapping paper Smiley winking

Some things that come to mind are using red cardinals in invites or other decor, or utilizing branches! http://www.google.com/search?q=wedding+branch+centerpiece&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1920&bih=991

My sisters wedding was the day before christmas eve and she had small christmas trees with white lights all in the entrance of her reception hall. It was really pretty! You can also give people an ornament as a gift! here are some ideas. Smiley smile

Very cute! If it helps at all - Ours is a winter theme, and what we're doing for our favors is little bottles/jars of the homemade hot coco mix we're using at the wedding. Edible and easy!

Have you looked into poinsettas? They look lovely in white and red bunches, and sometimes I've seen them come with sparkles on them.

Some pictures that I found quite lovely:

Maybe have a Christmas tree. Decorate it with purple and red ornaments or get a deep purple tree and decorate it with red. Then guests can put their wedding gifts under the tree!

You could DIY favor boxes of red and purple with a christmas ornament on the ribbon at the top.

Purple and red together is very Victorian but can be done with a modern twist.

You could offer several different chocolate drinks with different liquors added for a grown up version.

For the escort table instead of place cards Wal-Mart sells these beautiful mini ornaments for their mini trees that could be used by just added a purple or red gift tag with the persons name and table number.

For centerpieces how about a clear crystal vase with red poinsettias and dangling crystals spraying out. I think largely red with accents of purple would be pretty without being too much.

If you want it to look less Christmasy then go with purple as the main color with red touches.

The cake for your wedding, there are endless possibilities from simple and elegant, lavish or fun.

cake creatins-i have thaught about poinsettias, and most lickely we will use them. so far we are going more with the purple since it's my favorite color : ) for the cake i was thinking a 3 tier that's going to be totally fairytale with a castle on top.

november-we are thinking about doing coco for favors and maybe candles.

loveing all these ideas thnx everyone : )

I'm on a really tight budget tho so I chose Dec. 10th so that our Church will already be decorated for the holidays. I'm doing a memory table for my great grandparents that have passed away. I'm using silver frames, putting wrapping paper on the cardboard that comes in the frame and a slightly smaller pic so it shows the wrapping paper as a boarder and wrapping Christmas ribbon at an angle around the corners of the frames. We are covering the base of the table with white string lights that will be hidden in holly and snowy pine cones, and walnuts since they always let me crack walnuts when I was little. I'm also using an angel tree topper to sit on the table that holds a sign that says something about them being with us in spirit and love. Not sure on the actually wording yet.

I like all the ideas posted, but I was just wondering if you were aware that alot of guests wouldn't be able to attend because of it being on Christmas eve and the traditions they have, and the family the might only see once a year at Christmas.

FMS, the barefoot wife-most of the people we have invited are going to come. my fh and i have been engaged for 3 years now. So people have been waiting for us to get married. Plus we are having a small wedding with probally like 50 people, most of it is family and really close friends.
