Ideas for Fun Colors for a Late September Wedding??

Shannon, on January 26, 2018 at 12:19 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 26

Hi there!! I am planning my late September wedding (9/29/18) and I am STUCK on what colors I want to use!! I LOVE color (check out the background that my fiancé proposed in front of in my profile pic lol!) and I want to have a super fun, bright, colorful wedding!

I have 10 bridesmaids, so I could dress them in different colors/shades and I definitely want lots of colors in the bouquets! But I don't want the traditional fall color of burgundy, and I don't want the light pastel colors in Spring since our wedding is in September.

Any other people out there who have inspiration from your own wedding?? Or some ideas?? I have gone through Pinterest but I haven't found any color palettes that seem to really speak to me!!

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!! Smiley heart

Use whatever colors you like don't limit yourself just because it's fall.

Date twin!! Smiley smile I went the burgundy, sunflower yellow and then some tans/browns and orange route, but those are some of my favorite colors.

Like the PP said use whatever your favorite colors are. If you are wanting more fall ish colors instead of all of the pastel/spring colors you could go with the different shades of yellows and oranges. Definitely go to some kind of store that has paint with all the paint color samples to look at different shades. That is how I decided on my colors because I didn't have any luck on pinterest either. I think the shades of colors are what give that spring or fall feel. There are certain kinds of yellows that I see that remind me of fall then other ones that remind me of spring.

I do like the jewel tones, I just wish that the colors were a bit brighter and not quite as dark! But maybe I could just lighten up the shades a bit but stick with the same scheme?? Thanks so much for the feedback!!! Smiley heart

Aw date twin! That's great feedback!! Also glad I'm not the only one who couldn't find luck on Pinterest - I've been so disappointed about that! I do keep seeing the darker yellows and oranges and I agree they can remind you of Fall, so that might be good to go with! Thanks for the response!

I LOVE the teal tones! Teals and really deep wine colors with greenery are so beautiful but they aren't too bright that they take away the elegance. My parents wedding color was teal and I love it so much. We went with a wintery steel blue and navy but I love the colors of this pic.

I was thinking blues and reds and oranges for you but I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for on Pinterest. Maybe something like this for inspo?

I actually LOVE the boldness of the colors in this! I have been thinking about a royal blue and red, but would need another color to tie those two in so that it's not too patriotic lol. So maybe adding the pink/purpleish color to it could work?? Thanks for sharing!! Smiley heart

I'm doing jewel tones for my October wedding because I chose sapphire as my color. Just to "fall it up" the florist is throwing some orange in there (not shown in the picture). I know there's burgundy in there, just wanted to show jewels can pop!

Don't worry about pastels being too spring. There are absolutely ways to use any color for any season.
That being said, I think you are wanting gem tones. Bold, crisp colors like royal blue (sapphire), emerald green, bright purple (amethyst)? Love those. I'd tie them together with a topaz color. Maybe even work it into a theme.
Or look at a tapestry you like and break those colors down. Rather than focusing on the burgundy, use the greens and cream colors.

A friend of mine is doing neon. I thought she was crazy, but it actually can be done in a fun yet tasteful way.
