Ideas on staying warm...

Cassandra, on October 28, 2020 at 12:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18
When we planned our wedding it was going to be near the beginning of October (75-85°F) but because of some unfortunate circumstances it's now the end of this month one the 30th and the projected temperature are a low of 37°F and a high of 57°F. My butt is going to freeze in my short wedding dress (just above the knee). Do you think I can get away with white boots or ancleboots and some pantyhose/tights or will it look bad?

Here is the dress. Don't mind the floor. We had a flood so it's being repaired...Ideas on staying warm... 1

I think that you could get away with white boots. I'm not sure about the tights, I am trying to picture it in my head lol

I'd only do tights if I could find nude that was close to skin tone. Otherwise it would definitely be pantyhose.

I think sheer pantyhose would look okay. Is your whole wedding outside?

No, thank goodness. It's in a really small chapel. Otherwise he'd just have to marry me in whatever I had that was warm lol.

Leather jacket (white or black) would look cool with this dress and boots.

I have considered doing the boots and a jacket in a color. I figure as long as they matched it would look intentional... 🤔

Would you consider adding a detachable skirt? That way you could have some warmth outside buy easily remove it when you're inside.

I am in a similar boat too, our wedding is on November 28th (ONE MONTH TO GO EEEE!!!) and my dress is strapless. The ONE TIME texas decides to get cold early is this year lmao. I will probably wear woolen tights to keep warm, but for you I think nude tights would be great! Most people wont notice unless you mention it!

I would. The only problem is I don't have time to order one or get one made. I've got less than 48hrs unfortunately... makes me really miss my sewing machine...

Right! And I feel you. My wedding is in AR but I live in Texarkana. It's already freezing here. It's so weird...

You can totally wear boots! I wouldn’t wear pantyhose because it wouldn’t give you the warmth your looking for. Nude tights would work better.

I think this is one of those times that an over the top white faux fur coat would work.

That is actually what I ended up looking for. The closest I could find was this one.Ideas on staying warm... 2
I know I look thrilled 😅. Took all day and 6 different stores and a couple phone calls before I finally found a white "fur coat". So I'm a bit exhausted in this pic...

Awesome, you could even hide an extra cardigan if it's really cold. 😋
