I would have failed miserably at the cocktail hour, since we only had a few stationed hors d'oeurves, so I would have changed that. In retrospect though, none of my guests cared and most of them showed up late to the cocktail hour since we were married in a different location, so it was money well saved.

If I was on four weddings and I knew I was going to be on their for the very beginning of planning I would skip anything "typical" especially the venue because originality is apart of the scores. Start everything on time and have good food.

No matter what you do, there's that one bride that will find fault, and still deduct points. I wouldn't know what to advise, you can't win with those people.

FH and I attended a wedding that was featured on the show. The bride lost a lot of points for having three different dresses.

I would spend more money on my dress. You get alot of points for the dress. My food will already be good. I notice soul food always score high on the show.

Ha! I thought about doing this, but my FH would never agree to it. I agree with the others, food and comfortability/entertainment of the guests and drinks! They're always mad about non-alcoholic weddings lol. Good Luck! Let us know if you make it!

I worked a Four Weddings wedding. I don't know that I would want to go through it. It seemed like a lot !!!

Julia T... that's so true the other brides always go crazy over fried chicken and mac and cheese. Lol

Well, I would beg the Gods that its not too hot, too cold, and that it doesnt rain because they always deduct points for that -i never understand that.

I was on one of the first shows of the season in the US. My couple had a wedding that was perfect for them and their budget; the guests had a wonderful time and the snide comments from the other brides were really hurtful to them. They did a lovely, happy party in a great location for much less than the other couples.

I honestly don't recommend doing it. Weddings are crazy pressured enough without that kind of scrutiny from people who just want to win the prize themselves.

I never understand that show because they always have brides on different budgets. Of course a bride with a $50,000 is going to have a "better" or more extravagant wedding than the $10,000 bride. I think it's kind of an unfair disadvantage. I never understood that, probably why I hardly ever watch it lol. That and Bridezillas, can't stand those people! Like Celia said, it was a lovely couple who had a fabulous wedding for their budget and now it's tainted.
