If I have a s'mores bar, should I have a dessert table as well?

hearts, on July 23, 2015 at 1:34 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

Hello! Long time "lurker" here.

My fiance and I are going to have a s'mores bar/table at our wedding. There will be a camp fire so that people can make them.

Because I have the s'mores, how extensive should the dessert table be? We want to have a small cake and maybe a few pies, but I don't know how much I should have if we have s'mores to eat as well. Thoughts? Anyone with experience? Open to suggestions!

Not everyone likes chocolate, not everyone likes marshmallows, not everyone likes graham crackers.

So, have a dessert or two that does not include those items.

If you have cake and pies also, that's plenty.

If you're also having cake and pies that should be enough.

@Chrissy - Are you going to have enough smores and cake for every person to have both? Or an even mixture?

I am accounting for enough for everyone to have 1 piece of cake and around 2 smores pp. Some will probably eat more than others and We have a lot of bonfires in the fall to get rid of extra smores stuff.

That is awesome! I think snores and cake and a fruity pie for people who want to be more "healthy" is great.

I would! We're having cupcakes, a candy bar (take home favors), and our caterer might have dessert too. I personally don't see anything wrong with it as long as you can afford it and have a plan for leftovers. My FH has a sweet tooth, so a lot will likely end up in his belly :p

I think if you have cake and pie and things you are fine. But I was going to mention if that was your *only* dessert that marshmallows aren't vegetarian so if you have any vegetarian guests you would probably do well to have at least one other option (but you do, so all good). There are vegetarian friendly marshmallows if you wanted everyone to be able to have those, but they can be tricky to find so I wouldn't count on being able to locate them like the day before without previous scouting or anything.

If you are looking for something budget friendly a variety cookies and shots of milk (like Pinterest photo here) can look really cute and were a big crowd pleaser at a recent wedding I was at.
