I did have a virtual wedding and I thought it was a hit ! Still getting a lot of compliments and I thought I would share what I did in hopes of inspiring others who might want to go this route ! I had 219 cameras on my zoom call
His grandma got to see it, my elderly relatives got to see it and we made it work !! A lot of states are shutting down, I am in Massachusetts and we are pretty locked down here even as things open up and for me a virtual wedding made sense. I did have our parents physically present and siblings. I am by means saying brides shouldn’t postpone their weddings to 2021 but we both have very very elderly families who might not be around next year... (speaking in terms of their health) and have ALOT of our of state family so this made sense. I also got to invite more people to my zoom wedding which was fun! I’m a kindergarten teacher so all my students past and present came and they were all dressed up !!
I made paper invites as well as made invites from paperless post that you can text to people ! Even people with the link on paper wanted the text invite because easier to click ! My 99 year old aunt preferred the text invite lol ! I encouraged guest to have champagne ready for the toast, dress up and use my hashtags so I could find them later on Social media and encouraged them to order takeout from a local restaurant to support small businesses instead of giving a gift. I did send gift cards to restaurants in their area to my bridal party as a thank you gift instead of a robe or whatever ! So our bridal party got a meal on us ! And our guest did dress up ! My mother’s friends dressed to impress I loved it !!
My zoom slide show consisted of pictures of us, a memory slide for those who have passed away, small buiness was shot outs that made this wedding possible and of course the names of our bridal party ! We had a virtual roast ! Where our best man, matron of honor and maid of honor spoke ! We then did the father daughter dance, our first dance followed by a group dance were wedfuly snapped pictures of people dancing ! We
Our wedding venue cancelled on us so we ended up renting an air bnb for three nights. We told our host what was doing and he even waived the event fee ! This seems to be trending !
I asked my florist to take the flowers from the arch and make them so they would be easily transformed into centerpieces for tables !
My make up artist was able to still come and photographer! Woo hoo ! I found both of these vendors on a app called thumb tack.
I rented chairs and tables, including table cloth chargers and napkin ring holders because it was an easier clean up.
I would do it again ! I LOVED OUR ZOOM WEDDING !
