Im not having flowers at my wedding- at all.

Mrs.MacC., on June 10, 2013 at 10:55 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

Im getting a bouquet of course, and buttoners for FI and groomsmen, but no flowers at reception or church. Was just never interested in them. So, I have put off finding a florist.. my wedding is in 15 days.. I guess I should really start to look now, lol.

We did the same, except for a bag of freeze-dried rose petals we used on tables at the reception. However, even just to get bouquets and bouts, you might want to get moving!

Oh my, yeah definitely get to looking.

I am pondering whether I should get flowers. They will take up a good chunk of the budget, and I am not sure I want to spend a lot of money on them.

Personally I think floral makes all the difference from the perception of the guest. Our reception was all about the guests feeling pampered and spoiled.

You should've titled this post...."I'm not having any flowers at my wedding - well, some..." !

I know someone who's florist's husband had a heart attack a few days before the wedding. The bride's mother found amazing wildflowers from the local farm stand the day before that covered the bridal party.

I know it's the luck of what's there that day, but you might be able to order them in advance even.

FI likes to fish. I originally was planning to have bouts that looked kinda like tied flies. I know that's not for everyone, but I found all sorts of alternative bouts that could be done in advance with etsy as an inspiration. (We went with flowers in the end).

Ashlee@- well Im spoiling my guests too.. at 126$ a plate for la 5 star chef serving a lobster and steak seated dinner, and cases of fine red wine and fresh sangria I don't think they will be missing the flowers Smiley winking

IMO as a guest I wouldn't miss flowers at a wedding. I would prefer a delicious meal, drinks, and dancing! The only flowers I will have will be the bridal party's bouquets, boutonnieres, and flowers we present to our parents at the ceremony. Maybe some altar flowers I haven't decided yet.

We're having LOTS of flowers, but only because FMIL is a florist and is getting them for us for free. Smiley winking

We're not big on flowers, either. We'll be doing boutonnieres, 1 flower for each girl and flower girl, a 3-flower bouquet (they're big flowers, lol) for me, and MAYBE, if we get extravagant, one flower in a tall, thin vase per table. We'd rather spend the money on a nice location than on a living thing that's been killed, just because it's pretty and we want it inside. That's just us, though, and with regards to plants and animals, we're kind of hippies. x-P

I kept flowers to a minimum. Our centerpieces will be baby's breath.

We are only having the corsages, bouquets, and boutonniere's. The only other bouquet set that will be at the wedding is the bouquet I put together for the memorial table. Other than that, no flowers. Oh and all the flowers we are having at fake.

Im not doing flowers period, no corsages or boutonniere's, and im going to find an alternative bouquet that isn't flowers. I don't care for flowers and they just get tossed (real or not) so I'd rather not spend the money on them, I've got enough to pay for already! I don't think anyone will miss them.

I'm not having flowers. I hate the smell. I am doing fake branch cherry blossom centerpieces, and will probably carry something fake I can DIY for a bouquet and boutonnieres. I've already heard a bunch of negative comments about not having flowers, but not their wedding, so who cares!

We had no flowers at ours. I'm not a fan of flowers though.
