Just Said Yes October 2020

I'm panicking!!

Linda, on February 15, 2020 at 5:54 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 22
So my wedding is 10/24/20... and due to a chain of events... we Can no longer have our wedding reception at my future in-laws property. All reasonable priced venues are booked all of October and November... idk what to do.

If nothing is available, you will have to change your wedding date or move it to another city fairly close by.

I agree w the pps. Or have a small intimate ceremony and the reception another day so your wedding the day you want or change your venue style. Sadly Nov and October are the busy months. Could you do a rec ctr?

Try a few restaurants or lounges.

The closest I’ve found is about an hour away from the church where the ceremony is going to be held. I might be forced to change the date.

Try looking at event detective .com

It had some alternative non traditional venues.

Could you do a reception at the church? My friend did her wedding and reception at her church. Probably a dry reception.

Would it be worth it to have it on a weekday the week of my Now wedding date?

Hopefully. I mean that was no changing the date. Look deep and hard and something may come up. You never know. Look up some bed & breakfast places as some host weddings.

Check with a VFW or American Legion Post. Most of these have extra unbooked halls. Good luck to you 😊

Keep calling the booked venues. My friend got an awesome venue 6 months before her wedding from a cancellation.

Oh no! What a tough situation. If you won’t lose any money by changing the date (like catering or dj deposits) I’d change the date. Once you get to January venues should have availability again.
How big of a wedding we’re you planning? You could also look into having it at a restaurant

Change the date and take the time to find another venue.

What about a community center ? You could tell them about your problem and I’m sure if they said yes it would be cheaper than a venue that works with weddings for a living. I’m sure you’ll figure it out 😊

Community centers, VGW, Elks, etc. Or try changing your date to the day before or after?

I'm so sorry this is happening to you! I do agree with pps. I'd say look at other venues in neighboring areas, move your date if you have to, or look into a park or a privately owned estate if that's in your budget. Best of luck!
