I'm really scared to ask this but...

Anyone else worried about Covid affecting your wedding? I'm getting married in March and with the rise in cases and my states governor putting precautions into place again I'm worried we may be headed towards another shut down!? Is that possible??? What are your backup plans if you've given this thought???

We are getting married no matter what, so I just try to keep my thoughts on that and not focus on if we have to miss the party Smiley sad

COVID forced us to postpone our original date in 2020. It was frustrating, but honestly, things worked out for the best. At this point, our wedding is this summer and we are not postponing again. Even if we have to downsize or elope, we're getting married this summer.

If you're concerned about restrictions and how they will affect your wedding, definitely check in with your venue and vendors! Get some info on what your options are in case of another stay at home order or if state restrictions do not allow you to accommodate the number of people that your contract says you could have. Find out what the postponement policy is (though make it clear that you do not intend to postpone at this time, just simply gathering info). That way, just in case things take a turn for the worse, you know ahead of time what your backup plan will be.

We are having our wedding in March too. It seems very unlikely for things to go into lockdown again, but we did have more mandates put in place. Our venue is requiring vaccine (which we were hoping to do anyway) and we are also choosing to have everyone get a negative test within 3 days. At this point any event carries some risk but we feel good about these precautions and those who dont feel comfortable coming or dont want to follow our mandates wont.

Like someone else said, we are just excited and ready to be married and the certificate is being signed regardless. If we can't gather with our friends that sucks but it'll be okay.

I think that's valid to be concerned given the state of the omicron variant as of right now.

my friends getting married this year are concerned but i think they're still all marching forward except with more safety measures and mandates around

I’m pretty worried about it too. We get married July 10th this year and I was hoping by then things would settle down but you never know what could happen. Either way, I still plan on getting married.
