Oh I love to fly. It's the best way to travel.

But - I think a lot of the advice here will be really helpful! Have a drink or two - take an aisle seat, maybe a sleeping or anxiety pill. Crank up your ipod and close your eyes Smiley smile

You'll be fine! And then when you land, you're in JAMAICA!!!

I was nervous but flying is so simple it's not even funny. Take a drammaine so you won't get sick, and enjoy. And, don't look out the window! You can't tell you're in the air otherwise.

I fly almost all the time. So much better than driving! Just relax, ignore the safety card, and sit tight. You'll feel so good having drinks in first class (never flown it myself!) and you'll be on a high from your wedding. Hopefully you won't care much!

I get way more nervous about making connections than about the actual flying.

Also, they say flying is safer than any other kind of travel. Less people die doing it.

The safety card could make anyone nervous! haha! I mean, seriously, none of that stuff is complicated. I don't know why they feel the need to remind us where each of the hopefully never used exits are EVERY time!

Lol know what you mean...I don't really like flying at all. Have a happy pill or anti anxiety....I think you will be ok. Kick back have a cocktail and relax...listen to music and don't think about it....that is how I get through.

I absolutely am scared to death to fly, but it hasn't stopped me from traveling. Talk to your doctor and they can give you an anti anxiety medication. They work wonderfully! I am a total lightweight and it doesn't knock me out. Just relaxes you and takes the edge off. It's very common and you shouldn't have to be uncomfortable if there are things that can be done. Flying first class is an experience you should enjoy! So excited for you!

Flying is really safe. Not much to worry about. I have flown over 400,000 miles in my life. I am still here. I will say that I still hate turbulence, but, it is what it is. ;-)

    You will do fine!

PS to the First Class part....I fly First Class as often as I can, which is most of the time (knowing how to get bumped or using air miles is great). You will not even realize you are off the ground, in First Class. The bad part, once you are in front of the curtain, you never want to fly behind it. ;-)

I had heard to read a spicy novel to distract you. So, I bought a romance novel. Who ended up sitting next to me? A NUN!!!!

First class is the way to go! I use to be a very nervous flyer. I just had a few cocktails before flying! Just make sure to watch how much you drink if you take a pill.

I am so glad I'm not alone in this!!!! I've flown many times before- I've even gone skydiving. In some twisted world of mine skydiving is more safe than regular air travel.

I'm glad I'm with FH because he works on plane engines and loves everything about planes and knows a LOT about them so he explains the mechanics and science of things when I get scared and it calms me down.

And I squeeze his hand really tight when there is turbulence.

@Nicole, sky diving seems safer because you have a parachute on lol.. can i like, buy one of those and wear it when I fly, on a regular plane. LOL!

We are in first class too. I plan on sleeping the whole dang way if I can. Long plane trips do not appeal to me at all. UGH. I am not a drinker so the cocktail option is out for me.
