Im thinking burnt orange...Colors that would work

Future Mrs. K :), on June 29, 2011 at 10:28 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 31

We are probably having a late summer, early fall wedding (still not 100% on day) and I am really leaning towards a burnt orange or an orange for the BM dresses (pics below). FH hates brown so I dont think Ill incorporate that color into the scheme and I will not do black, too halloweenie for me! What other colors would look good with a burnt orange beside the yellow that is in the picture? Any ideas would help alot. Thanks!

Maybe maroon? or gold (though that's pretty much yellow haha) possibly like a hunter green or deep purple? (:

Yeah I have kind of limited myself. No brown or black! I like the yellow and the peachy colors in there. Just having a hard time pulling something to together that I like :-/

What about burnt orange and red or some shade of gold... a plum would be pretty too! more leaning toward the rustic vineyard feel...

Blue is orange's complementary color. I was going to do a similar theme, burnt orange, ivory/offwhite, and slate blue before we changed to a DW. I love these colors, but I think you have to be careful not to go overboard with them. For myself, I was going to go primarily ivory/offwhite with the burnt orange and slate blue accents. (Sort of like sun and sky to me.)

Olive green, eggplant, aqua, or a bright pink! Using a deep color like burnt orange, and a bright color could look pretty cool Smiley smile

I think various shades of orange, along with yellow and ivory would be pretty. Maybe even a TOUCH of red to accent!? It's fall-ish without being halloween-ish.

I think we found a venue that we really, really love (havent booked anything yet) and its an old barn. I just thought of more of a rustic theme because I hought it would fit our venue really nice.

I was BM at a wedding, we wore burnt orange with green sashes, we had pomander balls in the same color and the guys wore white suits with burnt orange vest, first I didn't think it was gonna look good but it did, this is the only pic I have with me.
