Impatience with ring resizing

Mrs. J, on November 2, 2017 at 10:22 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

So I am having the hardest time being patient with my engagement ring being resized. It has been a little over 2 weeks and they gave us a time frame of a month! I spoke with an associate there, however, and he said the norm is more like 3 weeks. Did you have to get yours resized? If so how long did it take yours?

They said it would take 2 weeks, got mine back in a week. If it takes longer than the month they said, then definitely call them and ask what's going on.

Mine said two weeks, and it took exactly two weeks. I was SO impatient! I was counting down the days...I just felt so naked without it!!

They did mine in 30 minutes while I picked out my wedding band. Do you have diamonds all around? That can take longer.

When I got mine resized the jeweler said it would take a week, and it took 4 days.

My ring was resized during the busy season (fall-winter) so it took about a month.

I was told 2 weeks. I got it a few days before the 2 weeks.

I've had mine resized twice. The first time, it took them two or three days. The second time, I think they had it for four or five days. However, the second time, I had gone a total of about six weeks without it because they originally had it for five weeks to make a wax mold so they could design my custom band (it actually only took then four weeks to make the mold, but DH forgot he hadn't mentioned to me the jeweler had called to say we could pick it up and approve the band design). Anyhow, I had been losing weight and after not having my e-ring for five weeks, it was noticeable it no longer fit, so they kept it for a little less than a week to resize it while they made the actual band.

Resizing itself never took more than a few days for me because we used a local jeweler who did all the work in-house. They didn't have to send it out to have any work done, like some chain jewelers do. Where are you taking your ring?

Two weeks is pretty standard but if it goes a day over I'd be calling them. I've had mine resized twice and the first time was exactly two weeks but the second was almost five!

That's probably why it's taking longer.

When my jeweler had my e-ring the second time for the mold and resizing, i wore a birthstone ring my parents gave me years ago in its place. I actually didn't have my e-ring for my bridal shower, and no one noticed I had a completely different ring. It helped my finger not feel naked.

My ring also has diamonds all around the band so that adds to the difficulty/lengthiness

They did mine when H purchased the set. Many local jewelers can do it onsite, which is one of the many reasons he chose to buy from one.
