What area are you looking for a wedding planner in? Check out Facebook groups for local weddings, you'll likely find a few recommendations for wedding planners in your budget!

Are you wanting something to plan everything and you show up as a guest? Or are you wanting someone to tie up the loose ends after you book the venue and vendors and work behind the scenes the last month and day of the wedding? Those will determine how much you pay.

The best place I was able to find vendors who don’t charge a lot is Instagram for your area or Eventective.com under the vendor search. Make sure that you meet with them and that you click because you will be spending a lot of time with them.

The cost of a wedding planner depends on a lot of factors, such as where the wedding is being held, how much/how many years experience the planner has, what you are wanting them to do and how time intensive it will be, etc.

Here is an article that may help you determine what you are needing from a planner and what you can expect to pay:

Google searches should turn up many options in your area. You can also use the vendor tabs here on WeddingWire, local social media wedding groups, or sites such as thumbtack.

I definitely would recommend looking for someone local to your wedding location, as they have the connections to the vendors who would be working the event. I looked for mine by using the vendor listings on WeddingWire as well as searching the [location]weddingplanner or [location]wedding hashtags on Instagram.

How much do you consider “an arm and a leg” for a wedding planner? What tasks do you need your wedding planner to do? Keep in mind that a wedding planner is the one who’s most responsible for coordinating all of your vendors, keeping the evening running as smoothly as possible, they are the point of contact for everything, running around and ensure that your overall wedding vision comes to fruition. They’re also there the evening before to run your rehearsal and there early on wedding, to help setting up and greet vendors. Those AREN’T tasks that a photographer, cake baker or florist will do. Yet, surprisingly, a wedding planner is typically the last vendor that gets hired and the one that couples want to spend the least amount of money on. So if you’re truly seeking a “good and long experienced” wedding planner, you have to be ready to pay for that service.
