In need of engagement picture tips

I’d highly recommend getting your makeup professionally done as the high image resolution of professional cameras will really pick up any imperfections (I used my engagements as my makeup trial). Also, I’d make sure to wear clothing that is comfortable to you (style, physical comfort, etc) as it will definitely translate into your photos if you are uncomfortable. Otherwise, have so much fun! I loved shooting our engagement photos (attached a few here).

Go in with the mindset that you are fearless and shameless! Photo shoots can make you feel really silly, and if you don’t just give into it, it can come off as looking fake or uncomfortable. My fiancé felt ridiculous doing some of the things our photographer asked of him, and he looked really uncomfortable in the photos shot at the beginning. But, once he started to relax and just embrace the silliness, they turned out great!

Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in! That confidence will show in the pictures. But don't stress too much about your outfit - you will likely have so much fun taking the pictures, that you won't really care what you're wearing. Maybe have a glass of wine or something beforehand to relax, and have fun taking the pictures!!

I'd say have fun with it, I was super nervous about how my pictures would come out. Just be relaxed, wear something comfortable and just smile😀 best of luck.

I agree with Nicole about the make up. My engagement shoot last week was also my make up trial and I was definitely feeling myself lol. Watch youtube videos of behind the scenes of an engagement shoot and look for poses you'd like (maybe your photographer doesn't think of that specific pose) dress comfortable and if you can . . tip your photographer. They are going through tough times with their business right now. Have fun !!!
