So my fiance's mother passed 7 years ago and special life events such as our triplets being born him graduating and now our wedding are all hard days for him to experience without her. He wants a seat set aside for her at the ceremony and i plan on making it special with her picture and maybe a bouquet and candle on it for her, but I've also thought I would make a pocket square or a flower for his boutineer out of a dress she wore to my fiance's sisters wedding so he can have a piece of her close to his heart that day. I even am trying to get it stitched with a sample of her writting. Looking for anyone else doing a sort of special in memory of a loved one at their wedding???

Im doing a remembrance at our reception. I have a lantern with an LED candle and having a floral wreath around the bottom. There will also be a sign with the saying this burns in remembrance of those who are not here with us today or something like that

My partner lost her mom 7 years ago. And between both of us she's the only parent that was really ever going to be invited to the wedding. We have agreed that she will still be the only parent invited to the wedding. Her own front row seat and everything what she doesn't know is I am planning on putting her mother's urn in the seat right before she walks in along with a picture of her mother. And I want her to be able to take photos with her mother on our wedding day. We both joke all the time about how her mother would haunt us if we didn't invite her so I want to make sure she's there as much as possible physically as she is emotionally.

I really hope she likes it. I've been talking with her sister about it and even her sister was tearing up and telling me that it was a great idea. So especially with her agreeing with my idea I'm feeling good that my partner will love it!

That’s sweet! I think that’s a great idea. I lost my mom a little less than 2.5 years ago. I was planning to get a bridal bouquet locket with my moms picture and hooking it onto my bridal bouquet.

My Mother and oldest brother passed last year. My FH Dad past decade ago. I am doing a designated table for our loved ones. Unfortunately, I think my grandfather will be gone by then too. We will have a big frame with their pics and a nice sign with burning candle for ceremony and reception. We will have a short silence as well. Lastly, I will have a charm on my bouquet of my mom.

My 3 deceased grandparents and uncle will be heavily featured in the family pictures decorating the welcome table, particularly including the picture of him walking my mom down the aisle when she married my dad. For the grandpa I was actually close to, I found fake purple pansies (his favorite flower, not available in real flowers) to mix into my bouquet and put on my mom and grandma's corsages. I also have a picture magnet of him that will go in my bouquet and i'm contemplating putting a picture of him and my uncle (his son) on my altar - we will be calling the ancestors as part of the ceremony.

Thanks, I was a bit emotional looking for a dress without her but I know she's watching.

We lost my grandmother (my dads mother) in July of 2013 and we lost my fiance's grandmother (his mother's mother) in January of this year. I plan on setting up a table with their pictures, flowers, candles and a sign that says "We know you'd be here today if Heaven wasn't so far away". I also got these tiny picture frames that attach to the bouquet that I am putting their pictures in as well so they can be with me when I walk down the isle.
