Include my daughter into ceremony

Mia, on July 24, 2018 at 12:26 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
I'm getting married September 15th. I have a 12 year old daughter that has a good relationship with her stepfather to be. He loves her like a daughter. I want to make sure that she knows that she is a part of this new life a hundred percent but that no one will take her real dad's place. I would like her to be included in the ceremony where I need ideas what we can do to eat or light a candle as I United Family or my new husband to be to give her something or say something to her at the ceremony. I need some ideas and I and some advice please or share your own personal stories. Thank you

I’m including my step children in my ceremony by writing something to say to them during it. I wanted to make sure they were included.

I have a 7 year old and my fiancé has a 3 year old. They’re our flower girls. The will stand with us as we say our vows. We’re considering saying vows to them. They are sitting at our “sweetheart” table with us. He is not close to his mother, so instead of having a mother/son dance, he will dance with both girls and I will join halfway through for a family dance.
Feel free to take any of those ideas! With them being so young, and having limited to no contact with their other biological parent, it was important to us that they be as much a part of this day as possible.

We have 6 children between us. They are not little (age range from 11-25) and there is only one girl, so I am not sure about how to incorporate them into our ceremony.

Thinking of doing a sand ceremony and having a color for each of us.

I think it's really neat when the step-parent to be includes some words for the kids in their vows. Even a small piece of jewelry is sweet as well.

I have a 7 year old from a previous fling. My FH net is when he was 5 years old. He will be standing next to my FH during the ceremony. We have a daughter together that will be 1 at the wedding. She’ll be next to me as well

You could do a unity braid- one cord represents each of you and braiding it makes the family. Normally its one cord for the bride and groom and God, but it could be cute this way too

What about a junior bridesmaid? What are your thoughts on a sand ceremony?
