Including nieces and nephews

Ali, on March 2, 2019 at 12:04 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

Hi!

So, my FH and I have 15 nieces and nephews( they are all from his side, but I treat them as my own). I want to include them all somehow in the wedding, but I am not sure how to include the ones who would be able to participate ( the ages range from 1- 13). I have one nephew as the ring bearer, and my younger cousin is our flower girl. Any ideas of how to include everyone in the wedding would be super helpful! Thanks Smiley smile

Recruit them to help welcome guests.

Consider asking them to do a reading during the ceremony(, those that can read).

make a toast to them or acknowledge them at the rehearsal dinner or your wedding reception

Every child is different, but I try my very best to treat my nieces and nephews equally. As silly as it may sound, I still resent my aunt (dad’s younger sister) for wanting all of her nieces and nephews, except for me to be in her wedding). It hasn’t helped that we’ve gotten into conflicts several times throughout my adulthood. Now, I’ve completely cut her off.

I'm having 2 ring bearers and 3 flower girls lol. Actually, there are 7 kids and 2 adults in our bridal party. So I understand the importance. You could make the ones closer to 13 junior bridesmaids and junior groomsman. Some could be ushers as well. Or like PP said have some do readings for the ceremony

I have about 20ish little cousin (my cousin kids) 1 nephew, 1 son, and I'm gaining 2 nieces... so I am having a niece, I know will be at the wedding as my flower girl, my son as the ring bearer - who is gonna be 6 months old at the wedding... my other niece and nephew are younger than my son so they dont need a job... ANYWAY sorry got off topic! You can have kids be gift runners, hand out programs (if you have them), light any non ceremony candles, hand out bubbles( if that is gonna be your send off idea) or one of my little cousin's favorite job - cake table watcher Smiley winking Where they literally just look at the cake table and if some of the candy/ nuts gets low they can refill it and sneak some for themselves also...
