Indian Wedding Invitations

Julia, on February 15, 2010 at 6:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16

I'm traveling to India for work soon and I'm considering purchasing and printing my invitations there. Is this a crazy idea? I've seen Indian invitations and I think they're really pretty and should be budget friendly. Has anyone else done this? I'm thinking of asking a local co-worker to help me look for a vendor. Any advice?

I love all things Hindu-inspired, and while I've seen invitations with Indian-looking patterns/graphics on them, I don't think I've ever seen an Indian invitation. Is there something very different about them? Could you show us a pic? Smiley smile I think it seems like a great idea...a way to get something very unique and very cheap!

    Hey Rosie --

This looks similar to what I've seen before for Indian weddings:

I'm thinking something like this is nice and toned down for my guests: http://www.indianweddingcard.com/D-3862.html

Also, I really like the scroll invitations they have, but I don't think I will get those because I'll probably have to pay extra to mail them: http://www.indianweddingcard.com/S862.html

Again, these are all on a website, and I'm just wondering if it's a good idea for me to go in person so that I can get better prices, more options, etc.

You can make beautiful invitations in India. The prices you'd pay here in America, would be very High, so it is sensible.

Go to any local Stationary Store in any Major city & they'll hook you up, give you samples & place your order.

PS, Better if you can find a Press Owner!

Anyway, if you have not yet hired a Videographer & need one in Houston, we are available.

Thanks Janak! Do you think there will be any problem printing in English?

I actually got my invitations done in Philippines, and one advice I would give you is when you do go to India, have your layout and wording ready so you can discuss what your vision is for your invitations . I doubt they will have it done before you leave, so more than likely it will be shipped to you.

Our invitations came out uber cheap!! And they were so elagant and professionaly done. The only thing that cost a lot was shipping.

Adding to the last comment, most of the online vendors provide samples you can try before you buy. I would prefer buying through shops in person as well, but this saved me a lot of time as we had a lot of other running around to do for our day.

That's an awesome idea. Look, Even I have recently married and bought beautiful designer wedding invites for me. I have few things that I want to suggest you before ordering your card. First, You should check, the reputation of vendor and experience of it's the previous customer. The second thing to consider is a time of delivery for your invites. Most of the time, late delivery can stuck you in the middle of the road. I suggest you to check out these available sites which I explored and bought from one of them.

    1. http://sevenpromises.com

    2. http://Indianweddinginvitations.ca

    3. http://weddingcardsplaza.co.uk

These have given me a fair idea and I ordered from Sevenpromises.com and Enjoyed my wedding with a lot of peace.
