Inexpensive Dinner Rehearsal Ideas

DeLarrah, on December 5, 2019 at 3:46 PM Posted in Parties and Events 1 19

I am about 5 months out from my wedding and I am just now thinking about a rehearsal dinner, what are some inexpensive gifts and resturant ideas?

Honestly you could just do pizza and beer for food!
For gifts, most recommend your thank you gifts be like any other gift and shop like it's for their birthday.

We are having ours at an Italian place across the street from the venue with pizza and pasta. For the food it will be about 14 per person

Rehearsal dinner can be super low key - pizza place with a few pitchers of beer, or getting sandwich platters or something delivered to your venue. I really wanted to go to the local Mexican restaurant, tacos and margarita pitchers would have been awesome (we ended up choosing something else just due to location).

100% agree with PP about shopping for thank you gifts individually. I personally dont' wear robes, most jewelry, and cutesy pj's - nor do I want more coffee mugs/tumblers/single wine glasses especially if they say "bridesmaid" on them. I would love a mani/pedi gift card, or a starbucks gift card, a decent bottle of wine, or fancy new coffee to try. Just try to think about each girl individually!

Are you close to your house or your parents? Could you do something casual like a BBQ or pizza?

If you want to do a restaurant dinner, Italian restaurants are almost always relatively inexpensive. We were going to do an Italian restaurant for $12/person, but then we decided on a polish restaurant right next to our church that FH loves for $15/person so we decided to go that route! Rehearsal dinners can also be super simple at home. You could have a couple different salad options and sandwiches and beer or just pop!

We’ll likely be having ours at a Chinese food restaurant that’s more of a sit down place than take out, if that makes any sense. It’s beautifully decorated inside and it’s pretty large. It’s also pretty affordable so it’ll probably be there!

There's a very low key place down the road from our venue. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere but it's spacious and they have really good country home cooking. We decided to do this so we don't have to spend another couple thousand on a rehearsal dinner. We're not super flashy people and would much rather have a good chicken fried steak and a cold beer Smiley smile

The point of a rehearsal dinner is to thank the people who participated in your rehearsals you should be hosting the dinner and providing all of the food/drinks, not expecting your guests to bring a dish and drinks.

Since we are getting married in my in laws backyard we are doing a pretty laid back rehearsal dinner. We are getting pizza and pasta delivered from our favorite restaurant and have liquor and the future hubs and I are both bartenders so we'll be making drinks for our friends and family as well as a thank you!

Let me clarify my BBQ rehearsals dinner Vicky...I have a large family and wonderful group of friends who asked to bring food and drinks for our rehearsal dinner. We were not expecting ANYONE to bring ANYTHING it was a suggestion on how to have a inexpensive rehearsal dinner. This is the way we are doing OUR rehearsal dinner. I dont know about you and your family and friends Vicky but we are blessed to have these groups of people in our lives who already know how thankful we are to have them. Our gratitude dont just stop at the "rehearsal dinner" we show our gratitude every time we are together individually or as a group❣❣❣

Did they deliver? Also what kind of options did they have? I originally wanted Olive Garden but we are outside of their delivery range. My next thought was pizza but this is something we would still have to pick up. So I was looking for something to be delivered.!

They deliver everything except alcohol. We had chicken, sandwiches, fruit, veggie, cheese and other platters. They also have pastas, salads, and all kinds of sides hot and cold. They have desserts but we did our own smore bar.
