Inexpensive Venues in Maryland and DC area help!!!

Dana, on February 9, 2017 at 8:10 AM

Posted in Maryland Planning 48

I'm trying to find an inexpensive but nice venue in the Maryland D.C. Area. It's been really hard to find anything under 4000. Does anyone have any suggestions?

@kate my sister doesn't get married until November of this year! She may have gotten off season pricing though and I know she got chivari chairs for free for booking in the month of January.

Also try the Audubon Society. Gorgoeus outdoor space, decent indoor space and the rental looks to be only $1500. Went to a wedding a few years ago there and it was lovely.

Actually the date is looking to be either June 11th or July second. We are both military so it's taking a bit longer to pick a day

@FutureMrsMonty! Holy shit you are my wedding twin! We love all those venues, lirio being my fave but hated the inside and too small. Yes, hate that the rehearsal is Thurs at noon! Won't be going, I think it's rude to ask of my bridal party.

I second Thorpewood. FH and I are getting married there in October and they have been SO helpful. We paid a little over 4,000 for the venue but added on the extras (fire pits for smores, moving of furniture...exc) . Plus it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL and you get access to all the grounds for 8 hours! I would suggest attending their open house in April! I can't say enough good things about them!

Have you looked into Martin's properties?

The $4,000 rental fee is very reasonable but I agree you are going to have trouble finding catering for $65/pp in our area. You will need to go into the suburbs!

Try looking at places in Frederick. We found some great places there that are cheaper than closer to DC.

I looked at nearly every venue in the state of Virginia and ended up going with the Piedmont Club in Haymarket. It isn't cheap-cheap, but it's definitely a lot of bang for your buck. Like someone else said, their catering prices include tables, Chiavari chairs, place settings, votives, and so much more. AND they have a wedding coordinator who does all the set up and break down and she is worth her weight in gold.

I got the Gambrill State Park Tea Room for late fall. $126 and $35 for the alcohol permit. But that is only a 19x31' space (not including kitchen), tables/chairs for up to 75, restroom and full kitchen. We are mostly DIYing the ceremony and whatnot...

Kate R. - on the off chance you are following this, what is your venue? I have friends looking for B&Bs in NOVA for their wedding!

@Lindsay - I'm so happy to see someone else who had their wedding at Piedmont! I love hearing about the wedding coordinator too.

Erika - The Briar Patch Inn is SUPER cute and located in Aldie (Loudoun County). I believe they include a room rental for the evening in the wedding too!

@jillian, I'm not going to do one either. I'm not going to ask the bridal party to take off work for that. And the groomsmen may not even be in town then. Lol oh well!

Have you looked at the elegant settings properties in Maryland. Our venue is only $1150 or Saturday evening which includes access to the house and tented patio. They provide chairs & tables.

I hate to hijack a post, but I am looking for the same thing! Do they provide music as well, or do you need to hire a do? Thanks!

Heather, I am in the same boat as you. Hate to hijack this post but definitely similar to my struggles. Looking for a venue in DMV area that basically already has catering, tables, chairs included. Oh and indoors preferably as we're aiming for a Feb 2019 wedding.
