Inexpensive wedding favors ideas for winter wedding

Jerrica, on June 23, 2021 at 3:12 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12
Hello! I am at a loss when it comes to wedding favors. I am going to have around 50 guests and am hoping to find something nice, but that's not going to break the bank. Our wedding is in December so it's winter themed and colors are red and silver. Any ideas and places to buy these things would be appreciated!!!

You could give out cute Christmas tree ornaments, or mini jar candles in seasonal scents (mulberry, spiced wine, pine tree, etc.). Little spiced cider packets that you add to apple cider or wine would be cute also!

I would do something edible. Maybe some hot chocolate mix in a cute little jar? Most people don't take favors, but are more likely to if it's edible.

Came her to suggest Christmas ornaments as well!

I also like Ava's other suggests, and Hannah's suggestion of hot chocolate!

A little packet of hot chocolate or cider with a gingerbread man cookie would be super cute too!

Favors are totally optional, so if you don't want to spend the money for them, it's totally fine to skip them! If you really wanted to do favors, edible favors are typically more popular. You could do something like cupcakes or macarons or decorated cookies from a bakery, or candy canes, or small bags of caramel popcorn, etc. If you didn't want to do anything edible, make sure that whatever you do buy, you'd be OK if extras were left over. For example, decks of cards, luggage tags, or $5 Starbucks gift cards may be good options! Things like koozies or shot glasses are also popular, but also can be hit or miss (more of a "know your crowd" item). I would not recommend putting your names/wedding date on the favor itself (food items are an exception), though putting that info on a tag or the package wrapping works great. Check out Oriental Trading Company or Amazon for buying in bulk and/or cheaper prices.

Ooh, I also love Ava and Hannah and Shy's suggestions! Christmas ornaments would be super cute, or hot chocolate mix with a gingerbread cookie would be awesome!

We are going to have a hot chocolate bar at the reception so I feel the hot chocolate favor is a bit overkill, otherwise I would totally do that! I like the idea of cookies, simple yet as suggested, not going to be mad if there are extras lol!

Edible is ALWAYS best. Cute winter themed cookies or brownies or truffles would be perfect. I always love when favors like that are already at each place setting too Smiley smile

Came here to say Christmas ornaments or a hot cocoa pack, like put a package of hot cocoa with some marshmellows and like a candy cane in a cute little bag and do those. People love that kind of stuff. We are having a fall wedding but we are doing blankets for all of our guests. Walmart has cheaper throws for $2.50 so we go every once in a while and clean the shelf. People use blankets for so many things, so we figured it's not a total waste of a favor.

Stick to edibles if you must have them. Otherwise put the money toward food/bar/dj/photo/video.

Anything chocolate or spiced cider mix.

I agree that something edible is best. We had cake pops that my mother-in-law made with the help of husband's sister and his brother's wife. My mother-in-law offered to make whatever we wanted since she loves to bake. I asked if she could make cake pops. She had never made them before, but she said she would figure it out. She did a practice round a few months before the wedding to make sure I liked how they turned out. They were delicious and she said they were rather easy to make. She made them on a Thursday and our wedding was on Saturday. Although there was a two day gap, you really couldn't tell.

Totally ok to skip. But if you really want to do them, edible is best. You could use one on each plate to double as the place card.

What about a selection of mittens or gloves in red and silver/ grey? I always lose my winter things and an extra pair to "warm your hands like your presence warmed our hearts" would be practical and cute, and I'd think of you everytime I use it.

Also if you *had* extras you can donate to a shelter, so you can also do a nice things for others
