Inexpensive Wedding venues - MD/VA/DC

Me and my fiance are starting to plan our wedding for hopefully next Spring 2018. We are really trying to keep it very low budget for 80-100 people. Do you have any suggestions on cheap wedding spots? Thanks!

Agreed with PP. We got a venue through PG elegant settings and several other counties have similar places that they maintain and are fairly priced. This worked out well for us since we have a large guest list (~200). But do remember that you need to coordinate all other vendors since many of these locations don't do anything- from setup to cleanup that's on you and your vendor team.

OP I live not far from you and my original budget was 10K...... which was no where near enough. I upped more than double to be able to host my 100 guests.

    It's so expensive!

If you think that your Photog alone is going to want 2k, dress and alterations 1k.... well that's half your budget and you haven't even talked venue, catering, DJ, decor. That's the struggle I ran into.

Hopefully you have better luck than me.

Awesome suggestions my DMV SisterBrides!!! My original budget was 12k for 100 guest. It was virtually impossible with my fiance being a serious foodie and both of us big time lovers of high end libations. I started at the Other Barn in Columbia but didn't like the fact that folks had to travel up and down a long spiral staircase to use the restroom. And the bridal suite is a broom closet with a mirror. Just my opinion. I did however consult with a planner on thumbtack and she had some super suggestions. Sometimes professionals know best. And they work extra hard to find you good deals. They also provide some super creative suggestions. Good luck!

Harpers Ferry Event Barn in Harpers Ferry, WV (a little over an hour from your listed location of Balitmore, MD) is relatively inexpensive and can hold up to 100 people: http://www.harpersferryeventbarn.com/weddings/

If you scroll to the bottom of my "resources" page on my website, I have a bunch of locations/venues listed, feel free to check out some of those: http://rachellangerhans.zenfolio.com/resources

Yeah, I started with a $10k budget and am going far outside NoVa back toward where I'm from to get a wedding that will be about $13k. I'd say it's possible for $10k here with barbecue catering from Mission or something similar and a historical venue and bringing your own bar. But you'd need minimal decorations and a relatively cheap dress (not a big deal overall but a dealbreaker for some).

Check out Flora Corner Farm (floracornerwedding.com) in Mechanicsville, MD. That's where we are getting married. It's DIY but they also have different packages so that they can decorate for you. My venue was about $7100 all together, including the $500 security deposit that you get back.

I also am doing BBQ catering and our budget is $15k, which we've stuck to. There's also a great Amish flower place near here, and my flowers literally only cost me $300.

We're using the Piedmont Club in Haymarket. Rental fees are very reasonable, but the catering is pricey.

Our wedding is at Chase Court in Baltimore. Beautiful venue and David (owner) has lots of connections to help with the planning. There are lots of options from intimate elopements to big and beautiful. We're going small (30 people) but they have done very large weddings as well. Their pricing is really well explained on their website https://www.chasecourt.com

    OP-

Just for reference, I had 85 guests and my total was close to $15k in the NOVA area. This did not include rings or honeymoon.

And this was with finding a lot of great savings on vendors and dress.

It may be doable, but it will be a lot of work and bargain hunting.

I live in CA and we are doing a low budget also. I found here a wonderful place that does food, linens, china, set up, tear down, and a gorgeous room to hold up to 110 people. The cost was inexpensive to what we compared it too and it has a beautiful fireplace where our ceremony will be. The ceremony will only have our parents and siblings so it's perfect for us. I hope you can find what you are looking for!

Outdoor wedding at the National Arboretum followed by reception on Smith Commons on H Street Northeast. You can do it for 100 people in your price range. Check both of them out and their prices.

We are using the Lanham La Fontaine Bleue location. Very reasonable. We are having 75 people priced under 6 thousand. It includes chapel and reception hall cake decoration and food.
