infinity dress for a lot of bridesmaids

junipercrown55, on April 14, 2014 at 7:18 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I have been considering choosing a floor-length wrap dress from an etsy seller as my bridesmaid dress. I have 7 bridesmaids and they all have different body types/sizes. I have heard conflicting things about the dresses. Are they flattering or too clingy? Do they stay in place or do they come undone easily? can you wear strapless or sticky bras with them? Does anyone have any experience with the wrap dresses in weddings? It will be a beach wedding so I thought they would look really nice in that setting, but I do not want them to be inconvenient or unflattering on my ladies! I would also love to see any pictures you have of your own experiences. My other option is a chiffon empire waist gown from a regular bridal store. I would love to hear what you guys think!

Here is an example of the dress, but I would get it in a coral color

I just received the dresses for my bridesmaids and flower girls from this seller and they are great quality and a really nice material. I ordered one as a sample when I was considering them so that I could try it for myself. I will say that not every wrap style was flattering on me but most were and seemed to stay in place pretty well. I got the tube top with it because there is no way that me or most of my bridal party could go without a bra. It does change the styles slightly but totally worth it in my opinion. I didn't wear the dress at length so can't comment on whether it would loosen over time but I think there is plenty of fabric to make sure things are tied securely. I think they are a fun option and my girls are excited to get to customize their looks.

I have one and I love it! (wish i had a picture to show you) I think it's flattering, not too clingy. I haven't had any issues with it coming undone but I did have issues learning how to do it at first. (I tried to throw it on real quick before a big even and was frusterated that I couldn't get it.) Once you practice and learn how to knot it well, it stays just fine. Just make sure they all know how to tie it the way they want before the big day! I have worn strapless and sticky bras with it on (depends on the style you tie it in). I think they are a great choice for weddings and look great in pictures with all of the different styles. I bought mine on ebay but I'm extremely impressed by the quality of fabric and I would definitely recommend them for a beach wedding.

edit: I also love these for bridesmaids dresses because the girls will actually use this later! I wear mine to the theatre, dates, weddings, cruises, etc. Smiley smile

I was going this route until I found an amazing deal on BM dresses. I would go for it, my girls range from a size 2 - 18.

Angie, I LOVE that dress!! The color looks gorgeous on you!!

I was planning on letting my girls choose their own style because I'm in the same boat...I just asked them to choose a sweetheart neckline and a shade of blue, and requested that they do tea length or shorter. This is another really good alternative...

Where did you get yours from?? I LOVE that particular style

Angie: Oh my gosh I think you just convinced me. You look gorgeous in that dress! And I love that color! I agree, the idea that they can wear the dress again sometime is really nice. Di you get yours from Dessy?

jenna: That is exactly what I did! We went to a salon and I told them to pick a sweetheart, long style, and then we all ended up deciding on the same dress. But it is expensive ($184 before alterations), and the infinity dress is cheap and really pretty.

I got one for myself and thought about having my bm wear it, but one came over to try it on and thought it was a bad idea. She thought it might not be supportive enough for larger chest girls and too stressful to figure out how to wear and tie the morning of.

I LOOOOVE them, and you can also wear the tube tops that they have underneath for some of the curvy girls that may not want so much showing. I've worn mine with the tube top and was able to wear a full bra with it in several of the styles! Smiley smile

I agree with future mrs jkr . for girls with larger breast--they can pick a style that can accommodate wearing a regular bra for maximum support. I have small boobs so I wore pasties with my halter style. this is one of the links that shows u many of the ways you can tie it
