Infinity dresses...thoughts?

Teresa, on March 16, 2018 at 3:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12
I have been looking at infinity dresses online for bridesmaids but I have no clue how they work. Anyone have suggestions?

From what I understand there's two long lengths of fabric attached to the bodice of the dress that you can wrap and twist to create different necklines, sleeves, and belt combinations. They also come in different lengths (and colors of course) so your bridesmaids can pick the style they feel most comfortable with, or they could cover their shoulders for a church ceremony and choose a different style for the reception.

    This is correct.

This is what i had and everyone liked picking how to wear them.

Be sure to check reviews for any seller you are considering. All infinity dresses are not the same. Some use such cheap fabric and a lesser amount of it, so that for curvy women, it clings and barely offers coverage.

I’ve worn the Jenny Yoo and David’s Bridal infinity dresses before as a bridesmaid and I liked it. We all watched YouTube videos to figure out how to do it. The ones I’ve seen on Etsy though offer very little coverage and wouldn’t work for me as I have a larger chest.

Personally, I am not a fan. But if this is the route you choose to go - like other PPs said - not all are the same. Some look really cheap and are really unflattering. Be sure to get one that is made with a nice fabric.

These are the two I’ve worn that were good quality and provided adequate coverage.

Thanks, I am planning on ordering one for myself to see the quality of the fabric and fit. I'm a busty gal so figured if I can make it work my BMs may be able to also.

Just do not get a sparkle belt or something sewn on. My friend did this and it was a nightmare because of the way the flaps lifted up. You had to decide early on. We ended up getting the cut off in sections to pull the flaps up.

I ended having a friend's mom cut mine off my body during the reception and I wore it around my head!

The dress itself is awesome and great because everyone can make themselves feel comfortable!

That's what I was really hoping for. I have one that will be delivering her baby just a few months before so I don't want her to be anymore uncomfortable if possible.

I had my bridesmaid in infinity dresses as they were much more affordable and versatile. There's lots of tutorials on YouTube on how to style them ( Infinity Dress Tutorials ). I do have some warnings: 1) Depending on the fabric lighter colors can be very sheer so a nude slip is recommended. 2) They can be hard to style if not done right but practice makes perfect and it helps if someone is there helping you do certain styles. 3) Invest in fashion tape! Those really saved the day because if you don't pull the straps tight enough things can move around!
