Innapropriate song choice?

Raina, on September 11, 2017 at 11:28 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 3

Sorry for two posts in one day- I need your opinions on a song me and FH decided on for our last song. The sound of it is very upbeat and fun and easy to dance to but when you actually listen to it it's about people seeking fame and getting into all kinds of stuff.

It's "You get what you give" By the new Radicals- I'm sure some of you are familiar with this song but now I am rethinking our choice. What do you think?

It's just a song. If you like it, play it.

I don't want to pass judgement- if you like it, you like and you should play it.

If you want an alternative, earlier today I did find Wherever You Go by Randall Kent that is super cute and upbeat.

But! As Powers2 said, it's just a song. Pick whatever makes you happy!

To be honest, I'd probably quirk an eyebrow if I heard that song at a wedding - while it sounds fun and upbeat, the lyrics are anything but. However, I'd never say anything about it, because the wedding couple obviously chose it for a reason, and they can play whatever they like. Plus, I'm probably one of a handful of my friends/family who actually know the lyrics, so it wouldn't faze me.

My brother's first dance with his wife was to a song from Theory of a Deadman. Nothing fazes me anymore. LOL
