Inputting youtube videos on your WeddingWire website

stephie19838, on January 5, 2010 at 11:38 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

Does anyone know how to do this? I have created my own custom youtube video player and placed the "embedded" code into one of my custom WeddingWire webpage. However, when I preview it, it just shows the code. What steps am I missing here? Please help! Smiley smile

    Hi Stephie!

To add a video to your Wedding Website, please follow the directions below:

The page of your Wedding Website that you want to add this video to needs to be in Custom Layout. To check that the website page is in ''Custom'' Layout, under ''My Wedding Website'' click on the name of the page. On the right hand side, you should see the name of the Layout that you have.

Once this is complete, you will need to remove the old page not in 'Custom' format by clicking the red "X" next to the webpage in your list of active webpages.

To embed the video on your webpage, copy the HTML embedding code for your video and use the following steps:

    Click ''My Wedding Website''

Click the name of the page

Click Source from the editor bar

    Paste the YouTube embeding code

    Click Source again

    Click Save

Is this still valid? I do not see the options for custom or for the source.

When I paste the link in, the site just shows the actual link on the page. The video does not play.

Same issue on our end. Added the video, and it worked for one of my previews. Upon added a new section, without touching the previous, the video is now nowhere to be found. I've been troubleshooting this for about an hour and can't replicate keeping the video embedded. Any help? The tip/supposed answer on this doesn't seem accurate.

I just did it with no problem. For those having an issue, make sure that you click the Source button first before you paste it. After you have saved it, when you are previewing it in the editing area you wont' see the video. You will just see a box that says iframe. Don't worry about it. You should be able to see it once you save it and look at the actual website.

Do you guys allow embed codes for mp3 songs? I don't see a source button. Is this just for the free website or is there a way i can purchase the space to add a song for my webpage?
