How do you all handle the stares and whispers of your fiancé? I am black and my fiancé is white and we live in Tennessee. He has it more rough than I do, he gets backlash from everyone. But it's like the same people are too cowardly to say the same thing to me that was said to him. They (coworkers, and distant relatives) call him a N lover, and that we are going to have tar babies. It's really hurtful and dumb. I know they're only words but they still do linger. And my 2 sons from previous relationships love and adore him. And they endure it as well. How do other couples and parents handle these types of things?

Wow, I had to respond to this post!
I'm in an interracial relationship. I'm white and my FH is black. I have a son who is biracial.
I know first hand about racism! My son has had to deal with this BS all his life!
I have tossed so called friends to the curb because of their narrow minded views!
I happened to fall in love with a black man because of his qualities, not the color of his skin! When will we ever come to the realization that we are all HUMAN???
This makes me so angry. Also, I forgot who posted that biracial children are beautiful. Amen to that!!!!
Each one of us that are in a biracial relationship is taking us one step closer to unity!!!
