Has anyone done an intimate ceremony and then had a "normal" reception? How did that go? Pros and cons?

We had our microwedding last October with 35 guests & we have our big reception this October (obviously due to Covid). We're excited for the big celebration!

My whole wedding will be micro, but I really wanted at least the ceremony to be. Just seems like such an intimate thing, saying those words to the love of your life, I would be way too embarrassed to do it in front of people I don't even know that well lol.
