Intro song vs first dance song

Vee, on July 8, 2014 at 12:22 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

Can the introduction song (for the bride/groom) be the same as the first dance song?

I'm sitting here wondering why we need two. Lol.

It's your day, whatever you want it to be, do it. We're doing out intro. Into our first dance. We're starting with "then" by brad paisley and then about 2 minutes in, it'll turn into a bachata.

If that's what you want to do do it! Just have the MC announce you and play the song and continue to dance! The reason we are having two is because my FH really wanted a specific upbeat song for when we come in and have everyone cheer and also he wanted "our" song to play for our first dance which is a slow song because that songs means A LOT to the both of us and it just made sense for us to have it that way.

I've seen couples do the same song for entrance and first dance so why not?

We are walking into an upbeat song and immediatley switching to our first dance when we reach the dance floor. I saw it happen that way at a cousins wedding and that way all focus was still on bride/groom instead of having to regain focus after a meal. FH wants to walk in to "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy." While I'd think it was funny, I know it is definately not appropriate! (So does he) So we're stuck figuring out a upbeat song to walk into then first dance is "I do (Cherish you)" by Mark Willis

We will be doing the same as KaylaP, intro and straight into first dance and possibly even cutting the cake so they can take it away and just have it ready when dinner starts. my sisters wedding did cake later in the night and nobody cared, they shushed the dj to stop interrupting the music, it was hilarious.
