Introduction - Vow Renewal planning

Rachael, on October 9, 2016 at 10:32 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

Wasn't sure what topic to put this under! Lol

My name is Rachael and my husband is Bill. We've been married 13 years now.

We are planning a vow renewal, but it's about 4 years out. We are Thinking our anniversary in 2020 since it falls on a Saturday. Though he's thinking possibly earlier depending on his dad's health.

We went to Gatlinburg and got married just us and had a reception when we came back originally. I still wore a wedding dress. We've been through a lot of ups and downs since then and want to celebrate being together still. I'm pagan and have always wanted a hand-fasting also. This is mainly going to be a DIY renewal, so I'm sure I'll be on a lot!

We are starting now so it won't be such a huge amount of money coming out at once.

Anyone else started or starting this early?

It will be a medieval theme with costumes encouraged but not demanded.

Congratulations! Smiley smile I love the medieval theme. It's never too early to start diy crafts as long as you know your ideas won't change and you have room to put the stuff! I'd definitely recommend planning it all out first before buying things. Are you able to book vendors this far in advance?

Hi Rachael! Welcome! I don't have advice about a vow renewal, but congratulations on 13 years so far and going strong!

When you get a chance, please change your avatar (profile picture). Right now we're just seeing the default double rings picture (or other default avatar), and that makes it hard for us to tell you apart from everyone else and start getting to know you. You can choose a picture of yourself or just about anything that you like...it's up to you! I'm posting instructions below, but if you have any trouble, just email a picture to community@weddingwire.com, and we'll be happy to update it for you!

Updated sorry. Had to go online to do it. I had uploaded a pic before and thought it had come over to this also.

Samtoine I've been looking around to get an idea of Price. There is a park here that has an outdoor stone amphitheater that you can rent for $20 (all day) when you rent the lodge they have for about $300 (for 5 hours). We've used the lodge for family reunions and a friend's wedding. The look would work well for us. It has a full kitchen also. I'm just worried about space, it says a 100 people would fit but I'm not sure.

However we are planning an evening event around 8PM we think. So will just have "finger" food. Not sit down dinner.
