Introvert Honeymooning. I have questions!

BuekerPartyof2, on July 21, 2016 at 11:43 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 59

Without bringing up $, I'd love to hear your experiences or what you & your FH are planning to do for your HM- specifically the length of time. When I think about being away from all responsibilities for more than 5 days, I feel a little anxious. (I hope I don't sound weird or ungrateful.) I just want to know, does anyone else feel like they may be ready to come back to their home after 5 days away? We are looking into Sandals resorts and I've heard a lot about how great the night life is, which sounds fun but exhausting after the first hour. Lol I'm wondering, are there any great locations for those of us who are a little more introverted and don't want to be out drinking/dancing until 2 am each night? Thanks for reading, if you got this far in the post. I appreciate any suggestions!

We are going to sandals Jamaica for 5 nights and I honestly don't expect to be clubbing until 2am. We are home bodies but there is tons to do during the day.

We are going to Hawaii 4 nights in Kona and 3 nights on Oahu. I can't wait- I am planning to be totally off the grid!!! We are looking forward lounging on the beach, exploring the islands and just being together. Not planning on clubbing or being out late!

My FH and I are also introverts. We aren't really into clubbing and parties. We are considering Hawaii because of all the wonderful daytime activities (hiking, snorkeling, etc).

We differ on how long we like our vacations to be. I'd take a full two weeks if I could! He's more of a four days is enough guy. We usually compromise and do a week when we travel.

I'm a Introvert as well. FH & I are having our dw at the very remote Sandals emerald bay in Great Exuma, Bahamas. I plan on sunbathing while enjoying the peace and quiet. FH is an extrovert and will probably talk and mingle with other couples lol

I think we're going to try to spend two weeks in Florida, a week at the parks and stuff in Orlando (maybe 9-10 days even?) and another 5-6 days in a VRBO rental cottage on the beach, probably.

7 days on Maui. I'm sure my FH would like to make it shorter, but he's being a good sport. He's the same way, worried about being away from responsibilities for too long. Not me, I'd stay a monthSmiley smile

Introvert here, though FH is not. LOL I think we are taking a cruise, likely to Alaska, next summer. Good food, lots of sleep, activities or just lounging around, nature & gorgeous scenery, a bit of everything. I may convince him to take a mini-moon this fall, I was thinking a long weekend maybe in the smoky mountains or somewhere around there.

We are thinking of going to Sandals. FH is a very charismatic extrovert and I would rather stay in with a candle and a book. Sandals seems like a good all-inclusive way to spend some quiet time together, and do some of the partying he loves. I am so not into it, but honestly, some of our best stories and memories are of nights he cajoled me into going out on the town. Balance, I suppose

FH and I are considering either a stay in a cabin or ski resort, which I'm not sure would be relevant to you since you're getting married in May--however, staying in a cabin in the spring may also be really nice, romantic hikes, beautiful views sounds pretty nice. We don't ski but like the snow--our first "vacation" we drove all night to see the snow for a few hours (we live in California, so we don't see a lot of snow here!). The idea of staying in a cabin cozy together by a fire and taking romantic walks in the snow, looking at the scenery and building snowmen sounds like an introverts dream to me lol. We are also considering Nashville, New Orleans, and Oahu. When you choose somewhere where they have a lot to do during the day and night but where those activities are still introvert oriented, like Nashville or New Orleans or a bigger city that has a lot of things to do just the two of you (like visiting museums, restaurants, jazz dinner clubs to sit cozy at a small table, zoos and aquariums, big parks, open air markets, etc.) I think it makes things easier as an introvert. A big city doesn't have to mean you go to dance clubs every night to enjoy it. When I visited Hawaii, I rather enjoyed the nightlife because I was able to stroll through the excitement quietly and at my own pace, choosing whether or not to join the noise or not. We were on Oahu and they had some really cool stuff at night, like street performing, open air markets, and the like. Lots of stuff to see, but not crazy partying if you're not into that stuff.

Don't worry about clubs or nightlife if it's not going to make you feel comfortable. My FH and I plan on going to Universal Orlando for three days. Part of the vacation package includes City Walk night passes, but I don't feel comfortable around the night life scenes, so we're going to skip it. We are planning two days spent at the parks, and one day at the spa together... No need for clubbing, spend the nights with your fiance' in your hotel room, and whatever else may come with that intimacy. On a past vacation, my fiance' and I went out for dinner together one night, and on another night we did mini groceries and challenged each other to make the most romantic dinner within the confines of hotel room kitchen appliance (a kind of fun top chef style competition, if you will.) Then we took it out on the balcony to look at the sunset and eat our crazily concocted dinner. One night we also did pretend boudoir photo shoots with each other; being goofy and sexy all at the same time. Giving each other posing instructions. There are a lot of things you can do that don't involve other people.

Bali for 10ish days. We enjoy each other's company and are not Wild partiers, so we will be looking into private villas so we can avoid other people lol.

Both introverts, both afraid to take more than a week away from work haha. We're planning to go to central CA - Monterey to Big Sur. There's a beautiful drive, hiking, and lots of amazing food. Will probably spend a day in San Fran as that's where we'll fly into/out of.

We are going to Sandal Ocho Rios. Got a room with a private pool. We plan to go on excursions but not a lot and I doubt we will go out and do stuff at night. He is a major introvert, I am just super shy so it works wonderfully for us.

Yeah...no...I went on a seven day cruise to the Caribbean and wasn't ready to go home. I am going on another seven day cruise to Alaska next month and I am sure I won't want to come home after that one either.
