So I finally bit the bullet and decided to get Invisalign. My teeth have made me so self conscious my entire life and my parents didn't get braces for me as an awkward 15 year old like everyone else SO here I am. Totally not ideal to take on the extra expense while we're saving for the wedding but I desperately want a pretty smile that I'm not embarrassed about on my wedding day. I knew I would fix my teeth eventually so I might as well do it now. I signed the paperwork yesterday so no turning back! They told me that in order to fix my bite, the treatment would be close to 18 months (my wedding is 10/10/20) but my teeth will be straight in a years time. In order to have a beautiful smile on my big day they said they're happy to pause treatment, take the attachments off, give me a retainer for the time being, and whiten my teeth for the wedding. We'll resume when I get back from the honeymoon. Has anyone else had Invisalign?? If so, do you have any before and after photos? I'm literally obsessing over them right now. Hopefully, I'll get the outcome that I want. Share your experience with meSmiley smile

My friend did smile direct club (basically invisalign) and is SO HAPPY with the results. I know its a ton of money but I've never heard of anyone regretting it. Having a smile you're proud of is so important.

Exactly!! I would have gone this route if I didn't have a severe bite issue. I can't wait to see how my teeth look in a year!

It will be 100% worth it! I had braces as a teenager, but didn't wear my retainer forever, so some of my teeth eventually shifted back, and my bite was messed up. Smiley angry I finally bit the bullet last fall and went to an orthodontist again. I got braces with clear brackets in October 2018. I hoped that I'd be done with treatment before the wedding (10 days from now!), but that didn't end up being the case. However, my orthodontist was on board with taking off my braces right before the wedding and putting them back on after my honeymoon. I just got them off (temporarily) this morning! Even though I'm not done with braces yet, I know my smile will look so much better than if I hadn't done anything. Smiley smile Looking forward to being totally done in the spring!

I had Invisalign! Finished about a year ago. To be honest, it did not fix my over bite but it did straighten my teeth!! Similar to your story, I was so embarrassed and self conscious of my teeth as an adult because my parents never fixed my teeth as a kid. My teeth were so bad! At the time I probably shouldn’t have taken on the extra expense but thinking back it was so worth every penny!! I can only speak for myself because everyone’s case is different, but my teeth are not perfect but they look SO much better than they used to. Trust me it will be worth it! Just make sure you are wearing your trays as directed. I don’t think I have a before and after picture but I will look in my phone!

This is awesome!! My orthodontist is making me wear rubber bands. I guess they can now do attachments onto the aligners to fix your bite. Did you have these?

No, that must be new! That’s awesome. I understood going into it that my overbite wouldn’t be fixed completely, I was fine with that. I just wanted my teeth straightened.

I sincerely considered lingual lite (they go on the back side of your teeth but are essentially normal braces) so nobody would know but they were so expensive. It was $10k for top/bottom and $8k for the lite version (top 8 teeth only). My top teeth are the only thing that have cosmetically bothered me but I grind my teeth at night because of my bite so I knew I needed to fix both.

Yes!! I wanted those so bad but couldn’t afford them! A friend of mine had them. You will be happy with your results, trust me girl! There is minimal pain and discomfort when it is time to twice trays and that is it!

ust make sure you are wearing them as directed and your retainer when you are finished! I feel one of my bottom teeth started to move because I got lazy at one point. Good luck Smiley smile

I just signed up for SmileDirectClub yesterday! I had braces in my early 20’s but never wore the retainer and here we are. I’m excited for you! We will have beautiful, confident smiles for our big days!

You will not regret it! Does your orthodontist offer AcceleDent? It's a device you can use to cut your time in half. When I first got Invisalign they told me 2 yrs, but with that I was done after a year. Going through that year was so worth it for having a nice smile in our wedding pictures.

No invisalign here, but I've had braces for a year and a half now and should be getting them off within the next couple of months. Just knowing I won't be self conscious to smile in my wedding pictures is worth it! Good luck!

Sounds like you have a great plan! That's so awesome that they'll whiten your teeth before the wedding too.

I didn't have braces and my top teeth are relatively straight, but my bottom ones are shifting. You can't really see them when I smile, so I can't justify the expense at this point.

However, I *did* actually get my teeth whitened last night and I feel SO much better about my smile already. I wanted to get it done before my engagement photos (November 1st) and then hopefully only have to do minimal touch-ups, if necessary, before the wedding.
